This is probably some kind of publicity stunt. I had a free preview of Showtime about a year ago and watched Calfornification. It was basically about a sex obsessed man. Showtime is trying to get a boost in ratings for this show.

That was my first thought, too.

Duchovny played a sex fiend-turned-religious nut in the horror film The Rapture. Highly recommended. One of the scariest and most biting films about religion I've ever seen.

But my favorite Duchovny role was the "finger jockey" in Zoolander. :icon_mrgreen:

I can see how one would come to that conclusion, however, if you watch the entire season you would see that the show is about much more than that. Californication is a very well written story and has a much deeper meaning that I'm sure many can relate to.
