Down here in Chattanooga we have a local talk radio station with sports in the afternoon as well as ESPN Radio with a local spot in the afternoons. In Knoxville they have the sports animal which is all local sports talk other than the afternoon Jim Rome show. I listen to both all the time and was wondering if there was a local talk radio show that talked some sports or if there was a pure sports talk radio stations in Lexington. If so are there any online?
Thanks in advance...

Sports Radio 1300 is an ESPN radio affiliate but their local afternoon show featuring Chris Cross, is a joke.
These aren't Lexington but they are as close as I've been able find.
WGFX (http://gateway.andohs.net/player/?sid=2963&nid=2920) out of Nashville - They do a good job with SEC Sports as well as Tennessee Titans and other regional teams (Braves, Cardinals, Reds, Colts)
They switch over to Jim Rome at noon (I loathe him). I then switch over to the ESPN Live (http://sports.espn.go.com/espnradio/player?station=espn&sid=1366) stream. Big fan of Scott Van Pelt.
Lately I've been listening to Louisville's new home of Matt Jones, WQKC 93.9 The Ticket (http://player.cumulusstreaming.com/Audioplay.html?WQKC-FM) . They have a pretty good morning show...then they switch over to Colin Cowherd (don't much care for him either). They cover UK and UL sports as well as Reds, Colts, and Bengals.
Around 4:00 I sometimes switch back to WGFX for their afternoon drive show. Darren McFarland is a Lexington native and a big UK fan.
Hope this helps.

The morning show on The Ticket is very good. Dave Ragone, yes the one from UL, does an excellent job. Our very own Scott Padgett, is getting better. The one show I don't really care for is Johnny "The Freak" Renshaw. He does the afternoon show.

He is disgusting. The only time I listen is when he has a guest on. This week he had the opposing coaches of the teams playing UK,UL & IU. Don't let your small children listen for sure. He is very, very tacky!!!

Thanks for all the responses, I will be sure to check them out next week at work. I really can't stand Tennessee sports, but love to hear all the UT fans call in and cry about their team...haha
