Could Boston Rick look any more irrelevant? I really don't think so. He has spoon fed LilBro's fans so much garbage that it really is the responsibility of the Louisville sycophant (http://www.yourdictionary.com/ahd/s/s0953700.html)media to call him on it.

Although he has lost his touch on the court, I will admit that Boston Rick isstill a master of media manipulation. Boston Rick (and his boss Tom Jurich) had the media totally convinced that the "Big East IS college basketball." No other league need apply. Yet when they tossed up the ball to play the game on the hardwood and not the newspaper or website, the Big East is missing in action. They are all headed for the beach while the SEC, who our media geniuses and Boston Rick's lapdogs convinced us just didn't measure up, have half the seats at the big dance.

Lets look at some of the canards (http://www.yourdictionary.com/ahd/c/c0060500.html)that Pitino and company spewed as cover for their poor showing.....as we know, its never really Boston Ricks fault....

"The Big East is the toughest conference in history" As it turns out, it was the greatest pretender. They turned in the biggest choke-job in the history of the NCAA tourney. Two #1 seeds and none find a way down the easy path laid out before them.

"We were Too Young" There are only 5 seniors starting in the final four...3 are on GMU. Just look at Florida, LSU and UCLA. They are chocked full of Frosh and Soph's in the starting line-up. Memphis, Texas and others were very young. In fact, that is the way the game will be from now on. If you cannot coach young players, Boston Rick, then get used to the NIT's.

"The NIT is the launch pad for NCAA final 4's" The NIT is a launch pad for the NIT. You need only look at USC. All I can say is welcome back for your encore. I love the CJ who again buys Boston Rick's excuses like no other. They mention that following Syracuse's NIT run, the following year they won it all. Geez CJ, did you not find it relevant that Carmelo Anthony and Jerry McNamara were not even on the NIT team and it was theFrosh who led the team to the NCAA.

Maryland and St. Joes launched from last years NIT to nothing again this year. Memphis, with a new group of contributing frosh is the only team to find the NCAA tourney this year.

Lets face the facts. UofL simply is not that good. It finished at the bottom of a conference that really was not as strong as we were lead to believe. To his credit, Boston Rick is great at what he does....spinning. LilBro's fans and the local media is great at what it does best.....buying it.

What about Tulsa Tubby? I guess UK fans are satisfied with only making the sweet sixteen every year with the rare elite eight appearance every 5 or 6 years?

I know is makes you guys feel better to see UofL go to the NIT, it makes losing in the second round hurt just a little bit less, but consider this, Tubby has taken a program that, in decades past, would have been the UConn of this season. UK would have been the top team that others would be gunning for. Tubby has reversed rolls on your team so slowly and so quietly that you guys don't even recognize it. There was a time when people would have been scared to play UK in the second round, not the other way around. There wasa time when teams from your conference would have been sitting at home rooting for UK to win the Final Four, not the other way around. There was a time when UK was the "Top Dog" of the SEC, now you take a back seat to Florida,LSU and UT.

While UK fans are sitting back and gloating on how they beat UofL and bragging that "At least we made it to the Tourney!" The teams that were once like UK is now in the SEC,are pulling ahead of you and leaving you in the rearview mirror.

So go ahead and rag on Pitino, go ahead and bust UofL fans b@lls (mailto:b@lls) over beating us,go ahead and brag about how "at least we MADE the tournament!" Meanwhile your once proud program is in a slow decline and you guys are loving every minute of it.

And explain how Florida, LSU, and UT (who lost in an upset) has us taking a back seat??? Are other teams for your respective conferences not allowed to have good years?? You're being stupid now... UK hasn't taken a back seat to any program in the SEC... Florida and LSU (and I guess maybe UT) are just eeking closer to where they want to be ... at Kentucky's Level!

You are correct. I could have written "sycophants in the media" but I never intended for this to degenerate into English 101. That wasdone by your buddy. I seldom spell correctly and was not worried about being grammatically precise...and was not on this one. I don't even care that you spelled 'choice' incorrectly.

I used a word that I could easily link in the online dictionary. If you use "sycophantic" it returns with "sycophant." You have to search on the noun to get the answer. That is why you are being insulted by my apparent misuse of the word. You'll just have to get over it and focus on the point of the thread.
