I'm dissapointed. I expected more fight - more steely dertermination and will. :icon_lol:

Seriously, hopefully Ike weakens by the time it makes landfall and causes minimal damage and headache.

No, I plan to just fix a margarita and wait. I may go outside and curse the storm, but that's about it. Lol

That margarita sounds good, and shake your fist at it some for me :icon_mrgreen: Seriously though, definitely hope it weakens a lot before it gets anywhere near you.

Take care. One of my co-worker's daughter just moved to Houston. First time away from home. She is terrified. Am watching the path closely.

I hope she can get out of there and far enough away. Please let me know if there's a way we can help. My son is out of state right now but has to head down to the coast as soon as he gets back to secure things and get his dogs. And lighthouse, I will watch the game from under the table. Lol. We may be just fine.

They sure have some long hours ahead of them. Tell him and his co-workers good luck and stay safe.

Thanks, Carmen. We and family near the coast came through unscathed. Not true for some of favorite haunts in Galveston. Looking at pics of the damage in this morning's paper...some of those places are gone. But, so it goes. They will rebuild, I hope. Have been thinking of you and yours this week, too. Lots of news our way, including a new grandson. But that's for emails. Really glad to hear hear from you. Your presence is missed on this board..always glad to read your posts.

My husband is in Baton Rouge right now. He works at Lamar and they sent a crew from this office down to help. They have crews (volunteers) from all over the east helping there right now as well. He found out today, he comes home Saturday, then goes to Beaumont TX Monday for another 2 weeks. :icon_frown:

Sorry...

I got a call yesterday morning that my son had been taken to a local hospital for some tests. He was having chest pains and weakness. He spent the night and then was released as they said it was exhaustion and stress. There seems to be no rooms in the Inn`s so his crew have been sleeping in their trucks and on cots out side...:icon_cry: I`m really ready for him to get home...
