Prayers are needed for my mother. She is in the Intensive Care Unit at Central Baptist hospital in Lexington. She has a blood clot on her brain following a serious fall here in our home on August 29. Her outlook does not look good. She has lost her ability to speak and to swallow and is now being fed by tubes through her nose running into her stomach.
The neurosurgeon has said that he wants to drill two small holes into the side of her head and drain the blood clot and if that is successful she might regain her memory and control over her bodily functions. First they have to get an infection under control which is a urinary tract infection caused by the cathather. It will take a miracle for her to pull out of this especially at her age. All prayers and well wishes will be greatly appreciated. Thank you my fellow Wildcat Nation members.

My old Priest used to say that those who suffer are chosen to be saints and are joined with Christ in His sufferings...May it be God`s will to heal your beloved Mother Vinnie...a candle of Christ is burning for you...

Father, I pray In Jesus Name, Healing for Stu's Mom. I pray the infection will clear up and when the procedure is performed, You will guide the Doctors hands and those who assist him. Bless this family with Your Presence and Comfort. In Jesus Name. Amen

Thank you all for praying for my mother and for your thoughts and well wishes. They drilled a small hole the size of a thumbnail in the side of her head and drained off the blood and fluid. The doctor hoped that she would get her memory back but so far she hasn't. The doctors have cleared up her urinary tract infection and kidney function so she is doing well in that respect but she still hasn't regained her ability to swallow and still has to have food tubes and so far although alert she doesn't seem to recognize us or the nurses who care for her each day. It could still happen though and the neurosurgeon is going to do another catscan on her on monday. Hopefully something will happen to jog her memory and to help her remember how to chew food again. I think it will take a miracle but I believe in miracles so it is still possible for us to get her back again.

Hang in there. Miracles DO happen. My thoughts are with you and your family.
Stu, Bring family photos, Momentos, things that have memories and special meaning for her. Talk to her, ask her questions, even if she isn't responding, These types of things might trigger a response. God bless. Never give up hope.....
