on http://www.wlap.comwith Jim Tirey, Kemp said He would be HONORED to playbeside or behind Rondo off the bench if RR was here for the 05-06 season, "Tirey was very happy with that comment"Kemp also said, he would meet with the UK coaches and decide about what college to attend in about a week after his UK visit.

Kemp's list is down to 4 schools, Arkansas,Tennessee,Memphis & UK and those are the only visits He will take with UK's visit being his last visit & it's this weekend, Kemp will be in Lexington sometime Friday. Some of the guru's shoukd have more on this soon.

Just wanted to share.

Thanks, bigdaddy. Too, in this day and age I also LOVE Kemp's comment that he would be HONORED to play beside or behind Rondo OFF the bench. :)

That is VERY impressive, isn't it, poodoo?

I've had the feeling that we are going to get Kemp all along. Conventional wisdom right now is to say we'll get Jasper with Kemp going to Memphis, but I don't know...I think we're going to get them both. Just a hunch.

we wont get three guards...

We wont get Porter, Kemp and Jasper.

The staff is going after 2 forwards. We will get 2 of the 4 forwards we are involved with.

In order of precedence.

1. Brandan Wright

2. Deon Thompson

3. Perry Stevenson

4. Thaddeus YOung.

That is based on their comments and info received up to now... things can and will change especially with TY visiting this weekend.

But the guards..> One is Porter , the other will be EITHER Kemp or jasper. Based on TUBBY's actions... its Jasper.

It was OK...heck he went to THEIR football game against Army... that had to be exciting...

;)

Nothing of substance to change our minds about his choice...

if kemp commits, you seem to have thought that would do away with any interest that OJ Mayo had with us, greg ? Still look that way.

Willie Kemp has also saidthat he would be HONORED to play college ball on the same team with Thaddeus Young. From an article last July when he played on the same AAU team as Thaddeus Young and which was coached by Thaddeus's father...

It's hard not to notice the skills of Kemp and Young, a versatile 6-8 forward who will be a senior at Mitchell High School.

UK assistant coach Reggie Hanson, North Carolina head coach Roy Williams, Florida head coach Billy Donovan and Tennessee head coach Bruce Pearl were among the college coaches attending what turned out to be Team Memphis' final game.

Kemp is efficient but not flashy with the ball and an aggressive defender with a good-looking jumper. He doesn't usually look to score first but is willing to take big shots when necessary, especially if a defender backs off him.

Of the six schools he named, Kemp doesn't have any favorites.

Although early reports that said he was a UK fan are true, he clarified his comments.

"I had liked Kentucky growing up," said Kemp, who plans on taking an unofficial to UK in the fall. "I think they have a good program and I like them a lot. They always have great players come out of their program.

"It's not a school that I said I want to go to (and that's it). I just said that I like them a whole lot."

Wherever Kemp goes to college, it will probably be close to his home so that he can be close to his mom, who is on dialysis for a kidney problem.

"It's going to be a big part of where I go to school at, being close to home," Kemp said.

Distance isn't a big factor for Young, a versatile lefty who had 17 points against the Hoosiers. Young has shown an ability to score inside or step outside and hit jump shots. He is aggressive on the boards and active on defense.

When it comes time to select a college, his father's opinion will count a lot. Young's father, Felton, coaches Team Memphis.

Felton Young played two years in the NBA with the San Diego Clippers, now the Los Angeles Clippers, before a career-ending knee injury and has been involved with Thaddeus' recruitment.

Thaddeus smiles when he tells how he lifted his dad's hook shot and baseline jumper.

"He's influenced me a lot," Thaddeus said. "He told me all the stuff that he went through in high school.

"He said the most important part is picking the right place for me. I can't base it on anybody else. How I like the school and how I'm going to get along with the players, stuff like that."

Young has taken unofficial visits to Memphis and Arkansas.

When he couldn't make it to Georgia Tech for an unofficial visit, Felton went instead.

"He told me about it," Thaddeus said. "He brought a lot of (informational) stuff back."

UK is one school Young knows a lot about.

"I'm kind of high on Kentucky," Young said. "Tubby Smith, he's a legend so you've got to keep them in mind."

When it comes to deciding on what college to attend, Young and Kemp have talked about possibly going to the same one.

"It's just an honor to be playing with Thad right now on an AAU team and I think if we end up going to the same college we'd have a good time playing together," Kemp said.
