This was talked about some in the thread abour new shows, but I figured it needed its own thread.

I've been watching Heroes from the very beginning and I love it. But the start to this season really has me worried. The two-hour season premier gave me the feeling that the show may be jumping the shark. There was just so much stuff jammed into those two hours.

There was the whole thing with Nathan's religious epiphany and his imaginary Linderman friend, Mrs. Petralli taking over as head of the Company, Claire turning bad and dying her hair black, future Peter running amuck and present Peter getting stuck in the body of some bad dude, Nikki showing up with a new identity and new powers, Parkman getting stuck in the African desert with some sort of shaman guy, Mohinder coming up with a serum to give himself powers and all the other crazy stuff that isn't coming to mind right away.

I really feel like since last season got shortened by the strike, they are taking all the things they had planned for them PLUS everything they had planned for Season 3 and cramming it all in together. There's just that much going on.

Maybe it'll work itself out and remain brilliant. I hope so, but I am worried about the show at this point.

I think that they were trying to start the season with a bang and DID. In the coming weeks they will take some time and sort out all of the storylines that they started. I like the fact that they are adding some more true villains to to the show. My hopes are high! (I love Heroes!)

I agree. I think they were just trying to set up all the storylines and then expand on them individually later on. That way fans get a taste of everything that will be going on this season so we can be more apt to look forward to it.

Watching the storyline of Mohinder reminded me of the show "The 4400" where someone came up with a serum to turn on special abilities. Some people could handle the serum and live, but some died from the serum.

My girlfriend said the same thing....

I thought for a minute they were turning Mohinder into Spiderman or something.

I think the worst thing (besides dying) about being injected with a power would be if your power turned out to be really boring (like Alejandro's, all he could do was heal Maya).

I didn't think that was a power. I thought that she just trusted him and he was able to calm her down. However, I don't believe he was affected by her power either. So you are right, very boring.

Oh I don't know... I would take the boredom of living over the excitement of dying (it is a once in a lifetime experience though). :icon_mrgreen:

Maybe he had more power than healing his sister, but his character wasn't developed. People tend to morph into something else and discover new things they can do the more the storyline focuses on them.

So do you guys think Nikki was some kind of clone?

Starting to think so. Remember back early in season 1 we learned that Jessica used to be another separate person, not just one of Nikki's personalities. So maybe there is a bunch more Ali Larters out there....

That doesn't sound so bad.

If I find one I'm keeping it....:icon_mrgreen:

I really don't like too many of the new developments - especially turning Mohinder into a villian (of sorts) and Sylar into a hero (of sorts.) This whole season still seems just... forced to me. I'm sticking with it for now, because I thought the first two seasons were great, but it better start improving soon...

ya, has gotten a bit confusing, and seem to be trying to force too much new content into this season. I told my wife last night, with all the new characters, they could spin off 3 other shows.

Sadly, since Time Warner has their panties in a bunch here in Dayton, we don't have any NBC affiliates. Been over a week now and i've been reduced to watching Heroes on the internet. Thank god its really the only NBC show I watch.

I've also been disappointed thus far with this season. Especially with Mohinder and also Peter and Hiro's character development. They were the three that I thought would always be the ones who had the best intentions and would never be the bad guys. I never would have thought that Hiro would kill Ando, that was probably the most shocking to me. I can kind of see where they might be going with all these stories (the chapter is called "Villians" after all) showing the relativity of good and evil, but I still haven't gotten used to it.

I agree with you on Peter and Mohinder, but I'm not so sure Hiro killed Ando last week. The dude can stop time, after all. So I'm thinking he stopped time and then set up some sort of elaborate ruse that made it look like he killed Ando. Fake blood, a prop sword... that sort of thing. Maybe I'm wrong. We'll find out tonight, though!

Hey, maybe you can paint the future, because that is exactly what happened! Genius :icon_mrgreen:

Still not liking where Mohinder is going, but maybe everyone can rally together to stop Papa Petrelli....

I really like how they are bringing it all together now... last night's episode started showing some promise. I do NOT like the idea of Peter losing all of his powers... he is one of the most interesting characters.

Thanks for noticing guys. I was pretty excited when it turned out to be exactly what I predicted.

I'm with Dan as far as the recently episode. I think that was one of the best of the season. It seems like the show is getting back on track now. Although, I'm concerned about the whole Peter losing his powers thing. I'll also be unhappy if Adam is gone for good. Even though he is a minor character, I really thought he was interesting.

Well, Adam did come back from being burned to ashes.... Still, it looked like he turned to dust and seemed like he knew he was dead for good as soon as his powers were gone. I am assuming all of his years of existence caught up to him all at once and that is what killed him.

I am sure Peter will get his powers back somehow... he is one of the most interesting characters on the show and they will include him in what is going on.

I think you're right about Adam's years of existence catching up with him. I'm sure Peter will get his powers back - maybe they'll kill his father somehow and the powers will flow back into Peter. Maybe they'll go back to Adam too, for that matter, and he'll come back again.
