I'm a new member - love this site!

Hi all,
I'm a new member. I can't believe I've never come across this forum before. Just after reading posts for about 15 minutes I can already tell this is the best UK forum I've ever been to.

A little info about me: I'm a life long UK fan. My high school team made the Sweet 16 in 1993 and we got to play at Rupp. I attended the Pitino camps when I was a teenager. I got to play in a barnstorming tour game in 1998. I attended UK for three years before transferring to Western. I married a former UK cheerleader. My wife cheered at UK during the 2001 season before transferring to Morehead St. We attend the SEC tournament every year and we'll definitely be there again this year.
That about sums it up.

It's exciting to see this many Kentucky fans in one place. Your board also seems well moderated. I look forward to meeting many of you and posting often.

I always got along great with referees for the most part... except for this one guy... but I won't go there.


OK, so you made me go there. We're in a tie game with two seconds left and the offensive player lowers his shoulder and plows into me and slings up a crazy shot trying to draw the foul. I knew what was coming so my feet were like they were in concrete and I was directly in front of the guy with my hands straight up. You guessed it, he called a blocking foul and the guy hit both free throws.

I never forgave that referee until years later when I tried to call a game myself. I thought it would be a breeze, but I was TERRIBLE! It was much harder than I thought.

Welcome. You WILL meet many good people here and bet they become friends as most of these people have become to me. If you go to a football game, stop by. They also meet before and after bball games sometimes. Stop by.

Sounds like he blew that call. :shock: Did I say that? ;) A lot of fans would enjoy the games more if they would spend one half with a whistle in their mouth. Glad to have you here.
