Dean sat, a blank stare on his face...his dreams of winning a Championship melting away in the final minute. The cinderella story of the little commuter school, Louisville, had come to an end. Battling injuries throughout the year, Dean had finally gotten healthy for the strech run. He would bring his team to a title, back home in NY. But the Final Four would have to do. "How many players can say the played in two Final Fours?" Dean thought to himself. The journy of this tiny commuter school will become legand. All the way from nobodys to Final Four contenders. Maybe some little kid from the rough side of Louisvillewill write a poem about his overachieving cardinals making it all the way to the Final Four. "We lost to a better team from the best conference in the land" Dean thought to himself. Not to shabby. There wont be many teams like this Louisville team. A team with a dream. A team that took thier dream and grabbed it by the throat and willed thier dream to come true. Just not true enough. It almost happened. They almost won it all, but almost will always be in the hearts of thier fans. "Remember the year that we almost did it." Thier kids will remember that year, when thier parents stood by the TV screaming, jumping, cheering, crying. It almost was...but not quite. Maybe someday this heroic journy will inspire a movie or a book. Who honestly expected them to get this far? Not thier coach, of course. The players? Some of them said they had planned on watching this tourny on TV because they never thought they would be going. Well what a story. A story of overachievers. A story of a coach who pushed his kids to be all they could be. A story of a leader like Dean who went down shooting. A story of Louisville. A small little school surrounded by basketball powers on all sides. A small school that went farther than anyone could have dreamed...execpt themselves. We will never forget....GIVE EM L!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Huh??What??What do you mean this was the NIT?? I thought they didnt televise that? Oh man, nevermind...

ROTFLMAO! That was priceless.
And years later when they're lying in their beds. Would they be willing, to trade it all, from that day to this, so they can come back and tell their enemies,"You can take away our lives, but you can never take away our NIT final four banner!"

Sorta like Chuck Milkshake Hayes last year crying like a little girl in Tom Izzo's arms..Don't remember his titles..cause there were none. This is pathetic smack and mean spirited. Dean has been a role model at UofL neverin trouble onceon or off the court...When you people can laugh at a player like Dean being upset over his career being over it shows how little class you have.

I post the smack to rile up the fans. In no way is anything I say being directed toward players. i particularly like Dean and would have loved for him to have played for the Blue. However, the NIT is nothing to be proud of.

C'mon guys......it was the last college game he'd ever play in. you didn't expect it to be emotional for him???? i'd much rather have a guy who cries after a loss than one who blames it on other players or coaching. we need more guys like dean and less attitudes. i have nothing but respect for dean. to mock a kid for being upset about realizing his career is over is a little out there. it's no different than what happened with chuck, erik, gerald, or any other senior who is reduced to tears (unless his name is jj :P) by realizing there will be no more college games to look forward to.
I hate to say this but if we could have imported Dean's attitude and work ethic into a few of our guys wemay be playing this Saturday and again on Monday.
There is a lot about little brother I detest, their (deleted explicative) coach, their (deleted explicative) turtle AD, their (deleted explicative) liar FBall coach, some of their (deleted explicative) fans and their (deleted explicative) suckupmedia, but just like Miles last year, you have got to give Dean his due.

First of all, I never said Dean cried. Second of all, the point of the post was to mock you UL fans and your little coach who made this out to be some kind of achievement...maybe talk to your own fans like NoKnee who come on here with stuff 100x worse than this before you try to say what is pathetic and mean spirited. What was pathetic was the fact that UL treated the NIT like something people actually cared about.

Chuck Hayes was the heart and soul of the UK basketball team......he was nothing but class.....Dean was a class act too................nothing wrong with that.....

All I want to say about this thread is UK fans know what a class act Chuck Hayes was and what he meant to UK basketball, and from what I've heard, Taquan Dean is a quality young man who was the heart and soul of the Cardinal team. I think any mention of them by fans from either side ought to be kept in that context.
