At what point will Boston Rick realize that he made a huge mistake with his move to LilBro. Michigan is in the final game of the NIT and Boston Rick could have been at the helm of that Big 10 power house. Instead he gets trashed by the 9th place team in the SEC....not to mention 11 other teams in the Big East.
I suspect at some pointBoston Rick will be calling Terry Meiners to chew him out for talking him into taking this dead-end job.
What is the chance that he pulls another Boston Celtics exit when he realizes that once again...he's not able to get the job done. I say not next year but in 07-08.

UL was in the Final Four last year. It's a stretch to call his decision a HUGE mistake.

Ah but last year they were not supposed to follow that fortunate run with a12th place finish in the Big East and being soundly thumped in the NIT by the 9th place team in the SEC. I remember the Pitino pep rally press conference from 5 years ago. It was NEVER supposed to be this way.
Had you made a wager with the people in the room, the media sports lemmings, and many on here, that in year 5 of Boston Rick that itwould have ended this way...well you could have made a million dollars.
The NIT was never to be in the Cards at this point.

I'm sure he knows it was a mistake.
But he will never admit it.

Good Doctor,
Has his time really passed? Or has he chosen a poor strategic location from which to wage his latest campaign?
Always wondered how different it all would have been had Tim Duncan fallen to Rick's Celtics.
Never did blame him for going to Boston. Without serious penance, will never forgive him for going to UofL.
Like the fifth Thanksgiving after your ex has married your little brother - everybody's looking around at each other and thinking what might have been ...

Aye Aye, I.
We will not know for sure since I am sure he will coach his final game as a card. As you said, there will be a lot of longing for the olddays and for what might have, no should havebeen.
I truly believe that he is not what he once was and I also believe thathis style is everyones style. Some do it better, others don't self promote to his level.
Back when hewas at UK we got the "Fosbury (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick_Fosbury)." Now Lil Bro might have just gotten the Flop.

While I agree with some of the things that you have saidDr. Lecter you have to admit that the SEC was far better than most people and the talking sports heads gave them credit for being. I am hoping for an all SEC Final game in the NCAA tournament.

Yes Vinnie the SEC received a bad deal. I think some of our previous SEC flame-outs came home to roost with the selection committee this time around. USC proved their worth. And despite the poor seeding of our teams overall, the SEC fought well and did it's talking on the hardwood. The same thing could hurt the Big 10 and Big East next year. It might cost one of their "USC's" a bid to the big show.

South Carolina definitely should have gotten a slot in the NCAA tournament. South Carolina was far better than some teams that made it to the NCAA tournament from other conferences.

I believe he has mentioned it every year he has been coach at Louisville at one point or another. He even mentioned it during his opening statements when he took the job. He probably cries about it every night.
