I'm interested to see how much respect the SEC gets on Saturday during pre-game and during the games. I hope the conference gets the respect it deserves.

Hindsight means you're looking in your rearview mirror. What's behind us doesn't matter. Only what is ahead of us counts!!!!!;)

FWIW these conferencepolls, while flattering, offer less and less meaning. As a SEC fan, I believed the toughest conference in the land was the Big East. I still believe from 1-14, they're pretty damn good. And I was guilty of not giving the SEC enough credit this year. At the same time, we can only go by what we know, and while UK was 2-0 against the Big East, Notre Dame won at Alabama, and UConn was 2-0 against LSU and Arkansas. By my count the SEC is 11-9 against the Big East this year (give or take a matchup I might have missed.) Tough to say either was dominate or no. 1.

From here on out, I'm throwing that "who's the best conference" crap out the window. I recall for a year or two I made fun of the Big 10/11. Then they start crashing the final 4 right and left. Now they're out again. It all comes down to match ups and who the selection committee lets in from the mid-majores. No one... NO ONE saw George Mason in the Final Four. And here they are. Great story... without the stats.

It's fun to point at the conference ranking. I tease UofL fans with this (especially those who've pushed this in front of my face all year), but it will never convince me who's got the toughest conference college BB. Some leagues have 10 teams, others 16... The way the mete out the schedule, a lot of things can happen.

For me... I'll enjoy the moment, then wad it up and pitch it in the trash.

Yes, the Big East is still a very good conference. However, it had been hyped to be better than it was, while the SEC had not been respected at all. Yes, UCONN, the number one team in the nation for much of the year, had beaten both LSU and Arkansas. Yet, as I had continued to post in defense of the SEC, LSU had only lost by a point to UCONN on the road, if I'm not mistaken, and Arkansas also lost to UCONN in a close game.

I love these final, more accurate ratings, Lecter. Thanks for sharing. Of course, I would admittedly love more for UK to be one of those two SEC teams who are still alive in the Big Dance. Regardless, way to go, SEC! :)
