TUSCALOOSA -- Alabama men's basketball coach Mark Gottfried has endured his share of players leaving school early for the NBA draft.
On Tuesday, he received some good news when junior center Jermareo Davidson announced he would stay at Alabama for his senior season.
Davidson, the Crimson Tide's leading scorer, contemplated an early entry into the draft for the second consecutive year -- which would finish his college career -- but decided to return in 2006-07 after talking it over with his mother, Madonna.
"We knew what was important to us," the Tide star said. "I'm on track to graduate, and that's important to me and to my family. And I want to help Alabama win championships and reach its goal of making it to the Final Four.
