Why don't you move Derrick Locke to WR, he seems to be able to catch, which is something we could use. Also, well nevermind about Randall Cobb, I'm sure you'll read about it in tomorrow's paper from the media. Next time your on the 3 or 4 yard line, go for it instead of trying to kick a field goal on your own field. It MIGHT give the offense some confidence.

Have to agree... I hate giving up games that fast.... Randall should move to QB and Locke to WR... Locke could be the next Stevie Johnson... We aren't going to win games the way things are going so, why not give it a try???? Spurrier and Fulmer moved to other QB's and it worked.. Tennessee didn't get the win yesterday but the QB looked a lot better than Crompton. Can't tell till you try!

Locke motioned wide several times.

Locke to WR, Cobb at QB and Smith starting at TB would seem to get the teams best playmakers on the field at the same time.

If we keep the same starters for next game, i want to at least see one thing- throw the stinking ball down field a little more. If we could pick up a 30-40 yard completion every now and then, it would make our offense look less predictable. Every good team throws the ball downfield a little and has a good running game. As for Hartline, I just dont have a good suggestion; I think we are kind of forced to play him right now, I really think this isnt as much Brooks' fault as people make it out to be. I guess we could give cobb a few reps a game, and see how it goes. I think the plan was to start Pulley this year, which wouldve made our offense a lot more dangerous. Oh, and I hate to mention his name, but I would like to see a little Mumme put into the offense and fake a punt or go for it on the fourth down a little bit too if we are close.

I do like your idea. But, it doesn't matter who they plug where.....Joker needs to call a more aggressive game. His playcalling shows a total lack of confidence in our personnel and the players have responded accordingly.
We have gone way beyond predictable. It has become a joke. The defenses are dictating what we do on offense. We need to be more aggressive with our playcalling and try to dictate how the defense plays.

The following quote is from the Herald Leader. This is what S.Carolina thought about our offense. I agree we need to be more aggressive.

The South Carolina players said they never felt threatened by the Kentucky offense in the second half.

"The whole game it was really us making mistakes, not them making plays," said Culliver, a sophomore safety. "When we corrected them, we shut them down. We knew they wasn't going to score on us as long as we kept our intensity up. We dominated them today. Dominated."

Surely this isn't news to anyone who attended the gaem. One for 16 third down conversions. PLLEEEEEZZZZZE!

It would be difficult to change a TB to WR mid season. FWIW, our regular WR's have been practicing all year and look at the routes they run.

Last week when everyone expressed concern with the playcalling Brooks and Joker both said we are taking what the defense is giving us, WELL DUH there is a reason they are giving us a pass play that only gains 3 yards when it is third and 7. We need to be way less predictable, it seems we only have about 10 plays we run and in almost the same order each series. throwing the ball down the field will open up stuff undrneath even if we dont complete the pass, it seems we are relying too much on the run after the catch and it sjust isnt happening and it wont happen in the SEC. I vote for more aggressive play calling and keeping the personnel where they are. I think Cobb is better and more needed at WR right now and Locke is better out of the back field or slot.

The quarterback is making checks at the line, according to Coach Brooks on his show. That means it's hard for us to tell what play had actually been called.

Id actually prefer Cobb at QG Locke at WR and Moncell "the turtle" Allen at RB.

I like the fact that Brooks is trying to play a real game of football instead of the bush league stuff that Mumme did when he was at UK. It showed a lack of class and confidence in his teams abiltity to play a real game with the big boys of the SEC. Brooks is not a gimmick coach and that is why he is getting the talent that is necessary tobe consistently good in the sec. Let Cobb learn the routes this year, if I'm not mistaken there are TWO star QB'S SIGNED FOR NEXT YEAR. Hartline will make a great coach for those guys next year if he doesn't improve. If he does, it will be a great opportunity to readshirt one.

I can't believe this, what I am reading with the majority of these posts. Are these not the same coaches that you praised for the last two years. That were making all the right decisions. Now that we have so many inexperienced wide outs you all question the same coaches that have done so well. I choose to support my team and coaches I do not doubt their decisions. Go cats

I think what you are seeing is most people looking for Joker to open the game plan a bit to show some confidence in these young guys, in a hope that they will respond by making some plays. We look too bottled up right now, and everyone can see it. Something needs to change, and maybe some aggressive play calling can give us that spark and move the offense along.

Definitely count me in with you and others here who are NOT questioning the coaches' decisions, BIGGIN. We have an inexperienced quarterback AND mostly true freshmen at the wideout position. Thus, what we are seeing offensively does not at all surprise me, although I had naturally hoped they would all "mature" more quickly (and it's the same for Joker, by the way). PATIENCE AND SUPPORT, folks. :) GO CATS! BEAT THE HOGS!

Great post. Gee - what did Andre Woodson look like when he got on the field his sophomore year??? Give us this year's defense and last year's offense and we're probably Top 10. But, we ain't got that this year.

And as far as the thought of going for it on 4th and goal at the 4 yard line?? WHAT??? In a tight ballgame?? Are you kidding me??
