24-7. Either Ball St. is as advertised or WKU Is just plain horrible. Probably a bit of both, but I thought this game would at least be competetive.

Ball State beats Western 24-7, and sits in the Top 25 for it.
UK beats Western 41-3 and isn't ranked.
I'd love to see Ball State play at Alabama and try to stay within 3 points.
UK may not belong in the Top 25, but they belong there far more than Ball State.
The poll voters' fixation on records, vs. quality of opponents, roster strength, etc. is really foolish.
What unranked SEC teams could Ball State defeat? Any?

Until yesterday I would have said Arkansas, but now I'm not so sure. :shrug1:

There is one flaw to your logic. Ball State played WKU in Bowling Green. We played them in Lexington. That means something, I think.

3 point swing for playing at home, maybe?

3 touchdowns worth of difference? I doubt WKU's tiny stadium gives them that sort of advantage.

Easy there! This WKU grad still has a soft spot for the Hilltoppers. :tongue3:
They just finished a nice expansion to LT Smith Stadium this summer which reconfigures seating but adds 3,000 total, bringing it up to 22K.

UK hasn't done anything this year that deserves to be ranked in the top 25, our schedule has been weak until the last two games and we lost both of those. That being said, I am not sure Ball State should be ranked either, but they are either 5-0 or 6-0 with some decent wins this season, one over a Big 10 team even though it was only IU. As far as Ball St. beating an unranked SEC team I am not sure if they could, but they would probably give Ark a good game and after our Offensive display yesterday may give UK all they want, especially if we were playing in Muncie. I think they are a better team than MTSU and could probably play L'Ville tight, maybe even knock them off. Great team, no, but Ball St. is a decent little team this year.

The MAC probably wouldn't have too many teams that would win games in the SEC. Ball State(7-0 record) looks to be the best that the MAC has to offer. Toledo just beat a bad Michigan team and Toledo is just now 2-4. I know Michigan is bad but I could see Ball State beating a Arkansas or Miss. State. Look at how KY struggled with Middle Tennessee. The MAC has historically pulled a few upsets every year.

There are plans to build stands on the other side of the field in very short order. Little by little, WKU will get there.

Hammers? Did you listen or even read any articles? didn`t think so...It was 7-0 at the half...WKU beat them self's by turning the ball over 3 times in the red zone; once with the qb trying to dive into the endzone...but don`t let your justification of today's loss get in your way of belittling...

WKU is a basketball school...always has been and always will be...proof...16000 for yesterdays game against a ligit top 25 team...and I`m guessing 4 or 5 thousand that would have gone to the game were either in Lexington or home watching...

I wasn't belittling anyone, just posting the score of the game, so calm down there a bit. I knew about the turn-overs, sounds like Ball State stepped on the Red Zone Defense, or did WKU just turn the ball over on their own. Not trying to justify Todays loss either, my posting of the results of another in-state school had nothing to do with that.
So take your petty little attack and........

Idaho plays at the smallest venue in D1A, the Kibbie Dome. Only 16,000 permanent seats, with room for another 1,000 seats of various types (chairs, bleachers).

You can stick up for WKU all you want on this board. I just give you a hard time because of what would happen to me if I tried to do the same for my school over on your board.

That's all I'm saying. At least we give folks who are fans of other schools a chance here. But because your little WKU message board isn't as nice as we are, expect to get a little grief because of it.
