I saw this earlier. It will be great if he makes it. Even greater if he does great at it and gets a shot at the next level.

I'm pretty sure he has elegibility because its a different sport, and as long as your a student you can play. I know with bowling- I've seen grad students who have came back from a few years out to play again because they still have years left, but I'm not sure how it works with different sports - but I would assume so since he is trying out :P

Ravi was my favorite player on this year's team. I wish he could have had a better end of his career, though, those last games were among his worst.

As a student athlete you have 5 years to play 4 seasons.

From the time you first enter college, you have five years to complete your eligibility. While there are exception due to unusual situations, that's the basic rule. Since Ravi entered college four years ago, he only has one year left to complete his eligibility.
One may play up to four years in multiple sports but all eligibility ends after five years. Ravi could play baseball next spring if he wishes or any other sport except basketball.
One of the UK football players (McCutchan) has applied for an exception to the five years rule so that he can play his fourth year of fb.

Yea I don't know if anybody remembers Tim Dwight but he actually played WR for the Atlanta Falcons in the Super Bowl while running track for Iowa. At first I believe the NCAA ruled that he was no longer an amateur athlete but after further review, Dwight was allowed to run track and play for the Falcons...So Moss will only have one year?

Until recently, if you were a professional athlete in any sport, you were in-eligible for all college athletics. Now you can be a pro in one sport but still are allowed to participate in college athletics in other sports.
Moss can only play fb for one year due to the five year clock rule.
