The men's basketball team had failed to win the Southeastern Conference championship, lost in the second round of the NCAA Tournament and had 13 losses.
The football team had a better than normal recruiting class, returns a lot of young players and has a schedule that looks favorable to a possible bowl opportunity for the Wildcats.
But no one was expecting the surprise coach Rich Brooks had at UK's first practice Wednesday. Ravi Moss, the energetic basketball walk-on player, accepted an offer from Brooks to try football and was on the field wearing No. 4 and going through drills with UK's other receivers."
