As a follower of basketball recruiting scene for 20 years we are entering what I like to call the quick stage. That is things will start happening quickly now that most in home and campus visits have happened. Players and programs will fall in line quickly now as players see other players commit and quickly try to grab scholly's they want. No this doesn't mean I have inside information guys. This just means the time is here for things to start happening.

Looks like things are already happening.
A lot of information being passed tonight...I hope it's true.
Greg Hoover is not the only one dropping hints that Tubby might be in the process of landing a MAMMOTH class.
I've got my fingers crossed...

Not only is Greg dropping hints of an awesome recruiting class but ppl are reporting that other boards are buzzing with similiar news. This is going to keep alot of ppl on the edge of their seats until Nov.

According to Hoover, Johnson, Drummond, and a couple of others who appear to be in the know:
Thadeus Young and Willie Kemp may be close to signing. They are both on campus this weekend, and may be involved in some sort of package deal.
Hoover has said that he's 99% sure on Brandon Wright.
Also, it's said that there is a POSSIBILITY still for Derrick Jasper.
That would be a recruiting class to rival Ohio State's. Probably better, considering we would have (count 'em) TWO top five guys. Maybe one of the best classes in the history of Kentucky basketball.
Still all speculation at this point, of course...but I like the fact that it isn't just one guy throwing out hints about his sources. In this case, multiple people are saying the same thing.
This may be a good weekend to be a UK fan, folks. :D

I shouldn't have said "signing" above. Verballing is what I mean, of course.

Given these guys are 18 year olds.............nothing is truly sure until they sign on the dotted line. Of course I would love a class like you mentioned but I have learned to temper one's enthusiasm when it comes to the recruiting world.

So true.
But.
Tubby has been on this class for awhile now. This is one of the most loaded classes in recent history, and I think Tubby has put in a ton of hard work to make next year's class a beast. What's happened is that he's not only got studs for his Plan A, he's got top 50 players behind them in case the studs go elsewhere. This is different than two years ago; two years ago, if we wouldn't have got Rondo, Crawford, or Morris, we would have had to settle.
This year, we ain't settling. I think it would take something freakish to occur for us not to have a top 5 class any way you cut it. We're on too many of the top guys' wish lists.
As I've said before: this is the reward we get for winning a TON of games the last three years. :D

This is probably the busiest OTS has ever been on the recruiting trail and he is working is butt off. I've never heard so much news of OTS traveling to so many different places/homes and its all for recruits for the most part. With the '07 class being a big concern, its not hard to see why OTS is working very hard to get a great class to come in so we're not left with too many holes to fill in the following year.

COULD GET... IT IS A DISTINCT possibility.
Nothing is over til its over.
Brandan is almost a done deal.
Derrick Jasper is almost a done deal.
WIllie has noted recently that his #1 choice is UK
Thad has been noted to say that if he had to choose it would be UK. The issue is his "posse"/entourrage. They may not "let" him choose to come here. So it isnt as cut and dry as you think.
But
OH. Also The one Tubby wants most/... Deon Thompson.,. more than any of the others mentioned.

I've been burned, cooked, grilled, etc. for making predictions...
SO I will not do that.
MY OPINION is that
Deon
Derrick
Brandan
Michael
for sure. Then if we can manuever around and get people to go walk on etc.
Then we might get others.

i with you on getting burned, i've read your posts and you do get bashed pretty hard. but what are you gonna do, you know?
As for your opinion, that's a pretty hefty recruiting class. i can't imagine a better class from another team. i hope you are right

Yes Thad Matta is.
The boosters at O$U are the ones I get concerned about as do some of our less than reputable boosters...
Most of the ones I know are OUTSTANDING people and most know Sandy.
But one bad apple...
Is Thad Dick Matta's son? If so, genetics mightaccount for some of his coaching ability.

You are confusing the two last names.
One is Dick Motta. the other is Thad Matta.
The last names although look the same and are spelled similar are different.
