View Full Version : As we go into the lull between basketball and football season..

I hadn't really planned on posting much since we're going into the "dead period" between the two seasons, but after hearing about the way some of themessage boards for our common rivals are moderated (or AREN'T moderated, as is the case in a lot of instances) and the stuff that is allowed, along with the fact that fans of other schools are either banned after one post or are subjected to all levels of ridicule, I just thought some shout-outs were in order.

First, to the moderators for allowing the smack talk but also knowing when someone has drawn the line and where to hit the "edit" button, but overall for allowing a good, clean, fun forum.. (Note here: Show me any other smack board for any school where fans of their biggest rival would be allowed to reach 1,000-plus posts? I thnk the least amount of posts any U of L fan has is over 200..)

Second, to my fellow UK fans who have shown that we can smack talk with the best of 'em and hang tough when it's thrown our way,

and last, but by no means least, to the U of L fans who have become regulars on the smack board and have helped making it fun and healthy.

I'm not looking for a "group hug" or anything, I just thought this was a good way to kind of wrap things up..even though I expect postings to continue until football season, just not as much.

Our Spring game is 4 weeks away. That will give me a good handle on how much "ammo" I will have this season.

When is UK's Spring game? Anybody going?

Saturday, April 22nd.

Normally, I attend but it looks like I'm going to have to work that day. There will be, however, a BUNCH of WCN'ers attending. Always is.

BB75, i agree 100% with your first post. it's almost like every poster on this forum can moderate themselves. there really haven't been any issues other than the minor stuff. i'd like to extend my thanks to all who post here.

Right back at ya Matt. You're the best moderator around.

This board is pretty even handed and I think we all know it is done tongue in cheek for the most part. I think some guys have actually warmed to the idea this board can be fun. Was it Ed or someone else who originally hated this board and only ventured on it to make sure us Ville fans didn't get out of hand? I remember somebody not liking the idea and it seems to me they have become a fairly regular poster now.

P.S. I promise to ease up on the football smack this year right after UK's 7th loss of the season. ;)

I agree with this post and I thank everyone for this smack forum. I cannot express how much fun I have in this forum and how grateful I am for it. It puts a smile on my face before I go to bed each and every night. I would like to thank Rickdacatkilla, Yuleofel, raftingdon, cardinalnation, 4thecards, and noknee6of7 for showing up to this board unlike fans across the border. It wouldn't be fun if the smack was one sided and the smack here has been pretty good and fun from both sides. I have visited Hoosier fansites and its just not fun talking smack with them. This is by far the greatest smack forum out there and I hope to keep it going for many many years. Here's to the WCN Smack Forum!

Yeah, this board is hands down the greatest of all the uk boards I have seen. I have really enjoyed hangin with you guys. I hate this time of year. I normally don't post that much during baseball season, but I'll still be around to irritate every now and then!:ggrin:
