University of Kentucky football recruit Jamil Paris was arrested March 10 in his hometown of Vero Beach, Fla., for allegedly beating up Hispanic farm workers and robbing them.

.The slender 6-foot-6 defensive end, who was dismissed from the Sebastian River High School football team near the middle of the 2005 season for a series of disciplinary issues, signed a letter of intent with the Wildcats in February.

Brooks signed him to a letter of intent AFTER he was dismissed from his High School team!

Yet you all claim you would not want Petrino because he lies?

We need to improve, one step in this processcould be to model our rivals. If that means accepting felons, drug dealers and dishonest coaches maybe that is what must be done.

After all if has been a formula for success for the likes ofteams likeLousiville.

Although we are in a real catch 22 situation, If we 'save' this young man we will be raked over the coals and if we release him he will likelybecome a top priority recruit for the UL program.

Oh, for pete sake, are you guys gonna start dredging up this stuff ALREADY? All I will say about this (as if you you didn't already know it, and you do) is there is a HUGE difference between a young man who MAY be a discipline problem and a coach who lied on national television about accepting a job at another university and admitting to lying about it. I don't give a hoot what you all think about Coach Brooks, but I have no doubt that if there's anything at all to this, the young man won't be coming to UK.

Maybe some others will debate you on this, but I've said all I care to about it.

Have fun with it.http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_50_11.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNxdm824CSUS)

I really had to work hard "dredging" this one up.I had to look all the way back to the front page of todays sports section to research this one.

Kids make mistakes and deserve second chances but this young man sounds like BAD NEWS and there is no MAYBE to it.

Face it, Brooks cut a few corners to try to get some better recruits. My bold prediction is this won't be the only story about a player's character that embarrasses you a bit this year.

By that logic, the kids who are the best football players are all criminals. Right?

so if it was NOT front page news then must be nothing to it..........Brooks is not going to do anything to put the program back in shame.....
