Folks,
Can anyone recommend a great golf course between LEX and MYR? The route will be I 75 to I 40 to I 26. I'd like it to be about half way if possible. River Island is a great course but is only 3 hours into the trip. There are dozens of courses around Columbia SC, but that's 7 hours to get there.
Is there something in between that you've played and liked? Thanks!

Dave,
Are you coming down through Asheville?

I will answer my own question: You have to be if you're coming that way.
Take a serious look at the Grove Park Inn. Mountain course but simply majectic and extremely historic. If you have non-golfers with you there is a world famous underground spa and the Biltmore is close by.

I have a few others, but this is by far the best. It's about 4.5 hours from Lexington.

Carolina Country Club is substantially farther east, but fantastic.

Prior to seeing your post, I made a tee time here:

This one came highly recommended as well. Gary Player course, etc.
Do you happen to know anything about it?
Thanks again.......

I don't unfortunately. However I do know Duncan is a very small town. They have a powerhouse high school football team, sometimes nationally ranked. Duncan is also located about 5-10 miles from the BMW plant which is an awesome to tour. It's located smack dab in the middle of Greenville and Spartanburg so you will have no problems finding a place to eat.
