4 Sophomores and one junior in the starting lineup means they will be awfully good next year barring some major defections.
Billy Donovan is the second youngest coach to ever win the NCAA. He will get an lot of good recruits attention. Coach K will be hearing footsteps.
Gainesville is plenty attractive to high school kids.
Add it all up, and Florida looks like they will be the dominant team in the SEC and maybe the whole NCAA for awhile.

will depend largely on who comes back. If the chest thumper comes back they will be top 5 again. Hewas the best player in the tourney this year.

I know for you sure you are not a Card fan but they seem to think that two national titles gives them a dynasty.

I love how the Big Blew fans try to turn this thread away from Florida and their impending dominance of the SEC to a bash UL thread.
Bash away boys and girls. It won't do a thing to stop Florida from dominating you for the next few years.

Just like I love how UL fans use this game to say Florida is now a basketball dynasty and will own Ky. from now on. Didn't we hear that crap in 94 when Arkansas came into the league and won the national championsip? Now look at what has happened to them. Florida has had a couple of good years after recruiting some great players. It's a cycle that will die out just like it did at Arkansas! The only constant in the SEC is the domination by UK. That, you can count on!

Dynasties are impropable in college basketball. College football, maybe. But not in college basketball. With the NCAA Tournament as difficult to navigate as it is today, I would even venture to say that a back to back championship may never happen again in my lifetime.
And I'm serious.

I don't like the word "dynasty" because it is thrown around so often nowadays. In my opinion, dynasties take a long time to create, not just a few seasons. A lot of people called the New England Patriots a dynasty, and I don't think that was the case at all.
If Florida returns all of its necessary players next season, I have no doubt that they'll be the best team in the nation, ahead of North Carolina and Ohio State and UCLA. I won't throw around "repeat" because you just never know what will happen. I do think they'll be the favorite at the beginning of the season. But I don't think we can even begin to discuss dynasty. This is one of those questions that I would say could be asked in about seven or eight years and we'll see what the Gators are doing then.

i will agree with one thing on this thread. if we don't get some better athletes and start playing together we will be lucky to beat UF anytime soon.

I don't know about a dynasty but the Gators will be a dominating team for many years to come. They are not a flash in the pan. Donovan is building the program and is doing it from the ground up. His first two years were losing seasons and when he took over the cupboard was bare. It isnot bare now. Unlike Pitino, he will not jump from school to school to pro to school to pro to school. He is stable and is firmly planted in his community. He has already been at Florida 10 years and as far as I know, Pitino has never stayed any place for 10 years.
Things are changing in the SECand with a young coach who is going to be the highest paid college coach in the game soon, an administration that supports this coach and the ability to recruit with the big boys like Duke and North Carolina, the Gators are going to be better than good. They will always challenge for the SEC championship and will win it more than they lose it. You can count on that.
And everyone will be back next year. There isn't any reason for any of them to leave. Noah needs money like I need extra pounds around my waist. The kid is loaded now. Why would he want to be drafted by one of the worst teams in pro basketball and be miserable. He is having way too much fun.

Just curious why the cards no longer schedule the gators?
I believe that Alan Greenspan coined the phrase "irrational exuberance" for moments such as these.
Florida may win more that half of the SEC titles from now on. I guess. Or they could get a bad mix of spoiled brats again in a year or two and revert to their traditional form (Wildcat Whipping Boys).
Florida is deserving of all the accolades that come with this season's success. But, it is still just one season. Some team's make their run and then continue to hover (Syracuse, Michigan State), while others come crashing down (Arkansas, Michigan, UNLV, etc.).
As much as I love Kentucky, I can acknowledge that they are a dynasty that is hovering right now. Florida? Who knows? They have NEVER put together back to back strong runs.
I understand the good vibes flowing through Gainsville this week. I have felt them in the recent past. However, reality is fickle. I mean, good luck with your SEC dominance, but you might want to try to win your division next year.:D

yes, Florida is going to win the next 20 national championships, no one will ever win another but them......who the heck knows? it's not even been a week that they've won this one and everybody's throwing around the word "dynasty"....they played a great season and took home the banner to prove it...great...i'm not saying they're not going to be a strong team next year, but then again nobody knows that either...they could be terrible....as someone said the term "defending champion" means nothing anymore...let's face it friends and neighbors, it's anybody's ball game! but God forbid we should hope that the Cats bring home another banner, mercy me! that will never happen again...ever!
