What should I expect? Is it safe? There are only two of us. Where should we go for two hours after the cat walk? Does WCN go?
Parking?
Where to stay?
Meals?
Game bag?
After the game?

I am thinking of going to the game at UT. Which side will UK be on? I am looking for tickets and want to sit on the same sideline as UK.

We're on the sunny/east side.
I've parked downtown rather easily in the past & it's an easy 10 minute walk to the east side of that cow pasture.

A helpful tip: If you park next to the railroad tracks and bridges that are right off I-24 and directly north of the stadium, its free and your car won't be alone. There's always a lot of fans parking there.

Seriously - the places I listed to eat are good and within walking distance of the stadium. The Tennessee fans are more obnoxious than most SEC fans but you'll be safe. Parking is haphazard at best. The stadium is big, old and ugly and the seats are small with few aisles. It's on a hillside downtown beside the river. There are window air conditioners sticking out of the stadium - seriously. You'll hear Rocky Top till you think you'll puke - then you'll hear it a hundred more times. They mike the crowd to make it louder. Their band is pretty cool. I have very few good memories from there.

My first trip to Knoxville was in 1972 to see The Rolling Stones :icon_mrgreen: and then I drove all night to be at an Army Reserve meeting in Fort Thomas the next morning  I was in a state of grace.

Made hotel reservation north of K-ville. Not going to try to drive 250 miles that late.

The seats in the stadium are very small, I think they are a little worse in the visitor section from my experience. Expect to see Orange till your eyes bleed. Rocky Top 0237402740 times has already been mentioned. The area around the stadium is safe, you should have no problems unless you run into a drunk fan or something. Most people hang out on what is called "the strip" It is basically a really busy road on campus. There are several restaurants there such as Mcdonalds, mellow mushroom...some places to get drinks and did I mention rocky top up and down the strip??? There is a place called Calhouns over next to the river that serves ribs and stuff, ok atmosphere but extremely busy on game days. Parking is a mess....it is always really busy and the roads are just weird around the stadium...it is hard to explain. Most of the Hotels i've stayed at are in west knoxville. There are more resturants and west town mall out on the west end of knoxville. Some night clubs on the west end such as Cotten eyed joe's and electric cowboy if you are into that kind of stuff. Kingston Pike is the main road on the west end, if you follow it east it goes straight into UT campus and turns in to Cumberland Ave. which is the road "The Strip" is on. If you have any other questions just ask as I live about 50 miles north of Knoxville. I have really had fun with UT's record this year though. It is great that UK and Vandy are both bowl elegible this year and the ugly orange will be staying at home :) I wish vandy could have waited one more week to get there though :)

These have been great suggestions. I'll get my printer running and take them with me.
Just exactly what I had hoped for. Thanks, Everybody!
