and I haven't heard of any UK fans jumping off of a bridge, so I assume it is okay to talk about the game now.

UNC looks TOUGH. Their guards made UK's look like they were running in mud a few times.

A few thoughts for you:

1) Patrick Patterson (grade A )- looks physically ready but maybe not mentally 100% yet. I am sure he will be back to top shape by the end of the season.

2) Stevenson (grade B-) has sure bulked up. It is a shame he hasn't learned to shoot a 10 foot jumper. It would do wonders for UK's inside game.

3) PG - ( grade D):Porter isn't cutting it. Liggins isn't quick enough but he seems like the best choice. Perhaps Miller can step up his game and become a point forward type player.

4) Meeks ( grade a+ for effort, c+ for execution) Even though he is my favorite Uk player, he tries too hard to carry the team and ends up forcing things. Perhaps he watched Crawford too much.

5) Harris ( grade C) Tends to disappear for long stretches. How do you play a forward slot for 33 minutes without grabbing a single rebound?

6) Bench ( grade B-) There is some young talent here, but it is going to need time to develop. I really like Miller's game.

Overall, Uk is not ready for prime time. I don't know what Billy G is spending his practice time on, but it is not execution.

Well, Yule, those are pretty reasonable assessments. I don't know that I completely agree with everything you said, but I'm not going to begrudge an opinion. I will, however, point out what you and I already knew: you've been falling back on the "UK is not ready for prime time" mantra for a while now. Chances are pretty good UK could have won by 20 points going away and you would have said the same thing, but hey, it's nothing I wouldn't expect, so that's cool.

Let's see. Since we're now nationally irrelevant and are being laughed at in the national media it's time to regroup and see what we've got.

What was everyone bellyaching about the last few years? Lack of talent. Well BG has recruited some talent and now is the time to put it on the floor and let the fire of game action test it's mettle.

Where is Galloway? What's up with Stewart? Why is Liggins and Miller not starting? Put the young athletic kids on the floor. It can't hurt and can only help. Lots of stud teams have freshmen making solid contributions.

Face it: Porter shouldn't be at UK on scholarship. We've seen all we're ever going to get out of him. Carter shouldn't be at UK on scholarship. There's 2 spots being wasted. Hopefully those spots will be filled with worthy, contributing players next season.

My starting 5 is:

Patterson
Meeks
Liggins
Miller
Harrelson

Next off the bench (depending on who needs rest/instruction):
Galloway
Stevenson
Stewart
Harris
Porter

Sorry but as far as I can tell Harrelson and Stevenson are interchangeable but Harrelson is more versatile and isn't a stick that can get pushed around. Besides if Patterson is getting the ball like he should then it doesn't matter who is on the other side of the paint, they'll look good.

The offense, so far, has no discernible pattern or motion (other than our Center popping out to the top of the key for a very obvious pass). I honestly don't know what kind of offense BG is trying to get the kids to use but the bottom line is that whatever happens Patterson MUST touch the ball everytime down the court. Great things happen when he does: points usually or passes to open players.

For gawd's sake BG must teach these kids how to deliver the ball to the post AND Patterson needs to work harder at getting open in the post. Without this happening we're stroking the pony and running around playing street ball. BG really needs to help these kids understand just exactly what he expects on offense because right now it's pretty pathetic.

Defense...well on defense...I dunno...stop 'em from getting easy looks.

Once Liggins is starting there will be growing pains: poor decisions and turnovers but the kid is so athletic and has so much potential that it's a must for him to play as much as possible with Meeks & Patterson for a chemistry to develop.

I went to louisville today and didn't see any bridge jumping between Ashland and louisville. Unless that wasn't deer splattered all over the highway.

We lost by 19. I was figuring 30. So it was better than I thought.

Serious question, did Harris even touch Zeller?

And BTW, the parts of louisville I was in today were beautiful.

Fair assesment but I would lower Stevenson to a C and raise Harris to a C+. I don't agree with Liggins not being quick enough though I think he plays too fast sometimes which Freshman tend to do add to that playing in an environment like the Dean Dome and I could see why you though he might be a step slow. He will be special by the time it is all said and done although I don't rule out him moving to SF a bit with his height.

Zeller's feet went flying in front of him which is why he lost his balance and fell so awkwardly. If Harris didn't touch him Zeller must have jumped leaning backwards. Whatever happened, it wasn't a hard foul. Oddly enough, if Harris had jumped and grabbed him intentionally, Zeller probably would not have been hurt.

I tried jumping out of my basement window, but I failed.

Harris I believe got Zeller with the lower body, and with Zeller being a legit 7 footer, any type of contact would throw his balance off.
