I really didn't expect Jurich to fire Kraggie after just two seasons. When the stadium expansion gets under full swing and seats aren't selling, then we'll see some change.

Hey, 4TC, (and being serious, no smack) hasn't Jurich already admitted that he knows the extra seats in the stadium expansion won't sell out completely? Seriously, I'm trying to understand the rationale behind that reasoning. Oh, sure, I can understand the desire to have an expanded stadium, but if you're going to end up with a white elephant on your hands, why bother?

White elephant? Give me a break. Then commonwealth must be a white elephant also. Our long term prospects are still much better then UK's. You will never get to the top echelon of SEC football teams and stay there. We can be the cream of the crop in the Big East even with Kraggie.

Krag's coaching hasn't been bad this season. It is talent that is the problem and he has shown VERY limited abilities in the recruiting arena thus far. It is a shame a Bush/Brohm combination is so rare in this area.

that is because the Big Least sucks Yule..funny thing is you still lost to the botton feeder in that conference.......2 years in a row

Don't even begin comparing Commonwealth to the pizza pit. The teams in the big least will never fill the seats you have now, and how many players are yearning to play in your conference? If another B/B combination comes along, how do you know they will want to play there. :shrug1:

As far as the expansion goes, if Tommy can't fill the seats, (and he won't) first he'll paint them red so they will look full, and then charge the students extra to get a degree.

OBTW, I agree Coach K has done a good job with what he has to work with.

Yule, what part of "No smack" and "being serious" are you having a problem understanding? I asked a legitimate question and there you go, gettin' your back up and trying to start an argument. You're reading something into my comments I never intended. For your information, hotshot, I'm one of the few UK or UL fans who HAVEN'T bad-mouthed your coach, and I've said repeatedly it would be a HUGE mistake for UL to fire Coach Kragthorpe, and he needs time to get his system in place to see results.

There was an article in the Courier a while back where Jurich said he knew that all of the seats in the stadium expansion probably wouldn't be sold. He also gave a reason to justify it, but I can't remember what it was. Now that is the TRUTH. Whether you choose to believe it or not is your option, but I'm not in the habit of lying. I'm sorry you're so ate up with hate for UK that you have to sit around and wait to pounce on anything you feel like is a put down on UL (which, in this case, you are DEAD WRONG!) by a UK fan.

Geez, every time I think we can put the smack stuff in neutral for awhile, the same bleetin' thing happens.

4TC, since I directed the question at you, if you'd like to respond and have a decent discussion about this, I'll be glad to do so.

With the economy, is it worth adding on?

AD's always come out in support of their man...just before they can 'em.

I think Kragthorpe's not the man for a big time head coaching job. He seems a bit overwhelmed and the players look less than fired up to be playing.

This is just an observation from living in Louisville and watching this little bit 'o drama for the past year.

Can you blame them for being less than fired up. Kragthorpe is coaching guys that came to UL to play for Petrino and now they are playing for a guy that really has done nothing to warrent the job except for knowing Tommy Turtleneck. Tommy KNEW who he was going to get as a coach when Petrino left and he got him. But, I think that Krag will be fine as soon as he gets his guys in and the depth he needs. Right now UL is basically playing with the team UK had a few years ago like they were strapped by probation since so many guys left/transfered/got kicked off the team.

If the guys we are getting are "His guys", we'll be lucky to beat Trinity and St.X in the next few years.

You are just down about the football team now. Kragthorpe will be a good coach given time to establish himself again. He had a good record at his old school it was Tulsa but it still takes some skill to be that good regardless of your conference.

Yup.

That's what many impatient Cat fans were banking on in late October `04 as the Cats were 1-7:

Kentucky athletic director Mitch Barnhart said earlier this week Brooks will remain the Wildcats' head coach next season.

Fortunately, OUR AD was true to his word. Be interesting to see if Jurich will exhibit such patience.

I'm damn glad that Brooks proved the handwringers wrong.

I've said it before many times, and I'll say it again. U of L would be making a HUGE mistake if they fire Steve Kragthorpe and do not give him time to clean out the cesspool that Petrino left him. PATIENCE is the key word for Cardinal fans right now.

Good points.

Since he is not ready for a big time hc job I would submit that he is more than ready for the job at midmajor Lil Brother.
