Please......how many chances did he give Caracter:eek:

what Pitino says. He hasn't even won a conference title in the 7 years he's been at Loserville. And he won't win one this year either. What makes him an authority? He should worry about his own program and quit dreaming of the days he was once the king of camelot.

Your right True he did give DC a lot of chances, but DC never refused to go into game when he was told to. Im not going to bash Billy Clyde but there is no way Liggans should have even left that bench last night and I know the bigblewfaithful wont admit it but I know many feel the same way I do. Got to go halftime over.

I wouldn't have played him last night either. But maybe that is why i get a 12 pack, and not millions of bucks to coach.
And what does this have anything to do with Pitinio? Why is it any of his business? I know, a reporter asked the question.

As stupid as BillyClyde does for playing a kid who pretty much told him to "F" off? also a nonsmack question for you true. What exactly did DC do that was so much worse that telling your coach that you were not going into a game? I mean you seem to know so much about the UL basketball program im sure you know.

Actually there are similarities. Not taking care of what you need to, being disciplined multiple times, only to be allowed to play anyway. I would think that the other players who did take care of business, would be a little miffed at Pitino.

well let see.....broke team rules....weight gain ...not taking care of business in the classroom..a non stop problem from the day he walked into the door.....we have no idea why Liggins did not want to go into the game....Gillespie does not seem concerned so neither am I

The only thing that matters about his comments is this. What business is it of his to say anything? Even if he was asked, he being an adult, should take the sensible road and give a generic comment. His statement should and will be repeated in a lot of home's down the recruiting trail.

CardsRBest, I can understand you defending your team when challenged, but THAT was uncalled for. There is no evidence at all that suggests Liggins said that or implied that in any way, shape or form. The bottom line is Coach Gillispie dealt with the situation, he involved the entire team in his decision, and it's a non-issue now. Frankly, I'm a bit surprised that you took that route. I've read a lot of your posts and you usually temper your remarks.
I'm sure the problem with Caracter is a sore topic with Card fans and again, I appreciate you getting on the defensive, but that was a bit over the top, don't you think?

How about thumbing his nose at the rules of the team at every turn. True what Liggins did is bad and should have been punished and who knows it might have been in practice which at times is a much better punishment than missed game time.
DC missed curfew and classes. He needed a freakin babysitter to make sure he got up to go to class. Even calling the situations close is an overstatement of what happened. What Liggins did hurt himself more than anyone else and maybe distracted his team for 5 minutes after it happened. The DC thing dragged out for two years and was a distraction the who time.

“As far as his situation last night I’m a hard guy, I’m a hard coach, there’s no question about it but I’m a loving coach. I love competitors and I love guys that get madder than heck when they don’t get a chance to play. I think he could have handled it better because it would have meant more to his teammates if he handled it better but I don’t have a problem with a guy…I mean I’ve got a problem with a guy not going into a game, but he’s a competitor, he wanted to play, he didn’t handle it the right way but it’s taken care of and he’ll have a little extra stuff this week because of it. We weren’t going to penalize the team today and I asked them how they wanted to take care of it and they said, ‘Let’s play our regular rotation and try to win this game.’ He handled it great and it’ll be a big stepping stone for him.”

I dont think Billy wants another Alex Legion deal just a year later. Not sure he can afford one either.

Wasn't Liggins the one asking Billy Cried to push him harder? Maybe he didn't want to be pushed that day.
