Ahh, ethics in collegiate sports just isn't what it used to be, If a player has talent and wants out, force him to come crawling back ( Joe Crawford). If a player lacks talent but wants to wear the schools colors, convince him to leave so you can use the scholly for someone else. ( Adam Williams)

I would give my right arm and leg to play for UK...even run through a wall for the state and university but I'm not NCAA material...Is in unethical to not give me a scholly as well? I appreciate and am glad to see Adam Williams love for UK. I wish all the others felt the same way. However, at this level of competition you have to put the 15 best players on the court and besides it's not like Adam won't get to play somewhere else.

And if you're not that good (Terrance Farley) you make up some stupid excuse to kick him off the team only to have to have him return because of a public outcry. Please don't talk about ethics.

The word ethics should turn to dust in a uavel fan's mouth. Perhaps your coach could teach the class on how to run off players you have no use for anymore, he's a past master at it.

Bobby Petrino supposedly implies a walk-on can earn a scholarship if he pays his own way for a year, works hard, keeps his grade up, and proves he deserves a spot on the team. When the kid fails to meet the aforementioned requirements BP gets taken to court. Cat fans start a two page thread blasting BP as a liar.

Adam Williams get a scholarship to UK. He earns good grades, works hard, and is proud to put on the UK uniform. Tubby Smith convinces him to leave so UK can use the scholarship on someone more athletically gifted. This earns him the respect of Cat fans for doing the best for the team.

Some times you all are just So predictable. :(

P.S. Terrance Farley was never "kicked off the team". He was disciplined for missing/being late for practice. TF freaked and went running to his high school coack who then made a public issue out of it. If Farley had met with Pitino in private none of us would have ever heard about it and he would still be were he is today. Interstingly enough, that incident did serve as a big motivator for TF and is a lot of the reason his game has improved as much as it has.

You all are a joke. This kid was obviously not talented enough to play in front of the guards we have...and then when we recruited 2 more talented guards, he saw that his time would probably never come. Dont blame the kid for wanting to play basketball and come up with some conspiracy about how Tubby forced him out. His Dad wanted him to play more and so did he...simple as that. I know that since your coming from UL you always think there is some unethical backround to each story...but thats not always true at other schools. Sorry.

The greatest injustice ever done to any player was Pitino casting off Rod Rhodes his SENIOR year to make room for Ron Mercer. That was a travesty!!

I disagree, Rhodes was more than ready to leave the team, why should UK, or any other school, have to pass on a player who wants to come to your school for a guy whose demonstrating a desire to leave.

Rhodes played a game and lost, pure & simple.

Tubby just wasted 2 years of this kids life by his mistake. Tubby offered the kid, then made him go to prep school, and now this. Tubby=Mike Davis
