for UofL last season (coming off a Final Four) but AGAIN this season?!? This guy has some serious coconuts to print this. I mean, I appreciate the respect, but....
FoxSports.com preseason top 25
http://msn.foxsports.com/cbk/story/5473798
For the record,I think ESPN's pollmay be a little bit closer. They have us just outside at 26th, and uk 34th.

I'm not going to argue on whether or not UL or UK deserve to be ranked, but the guy loses all credibility when he says Willie Kemp is better than Darius Washington. I've seen Kemp play. He's good, but Washington is NBA now good.
Losing Taquan Dean may be equivalent of UK losing Hayes last year. The kid has a huge heart. I wouldn't have minded seeing him run our point.

I've had to laugh @ a few of my fellow UK fans on other boards. Some of them actually are insulted that were not on these preseason polls. IMO we shouldn't even be close. We need to prove that he can be a special team again. I've said before that I really think you will be able to gauge the amount of success we will have next year on perry stevenson's playing time the first month of the year. if he is playing and producing it means we have a big guy who is athletic, can rebound, and block shots. if he's buried on the bench next to woo and shag then we are in BIG trouble again. if stevenson is good enough to start that may be a very good sign. i know it seems like i'm putting a lot on one kid's role. but, he is the only help on the way down low. i may have to go AWOL if i have to watch bobby perry playing his heart out against guys bigger and more physical than him @ the 4.

Hey, I am glad we are not ranked in the pre-season. Look how well that worked out for Florida this year!

You know, I am not one to talk alot of smack - but I really can't think of any reason why UL would be ranked ahead of UK in the preseason polls.

Rick Pitino. And we lost one player and have a McD's AA, another 5 star, and two 4 star players from an outstanding crop, coming in. The 05 class was rated one of the weakest in decades. Although we got several 4 star players in 05, they would be 3 star recruits in this years class. The talent level this season is head and shoulders above last.
Without Rondo, uk is playing along side us in the NIT. Your dangerous 3 point threat in Sparks is gone. It was usually one or the other stepping up for each game, and now they are both gone. Morris is a fouling machine, and I wouldn't even consider him not gone just yet. No offense but i don't see how you CAN'T see why we would be rated higher. Because every sports writer so far has had no problem understanding why. Here is a clue, take off the blueblockers first.

We will be a much more balanced team next year. As much as I hate to lose Rondo I think we will do a lot less standing around just waiting for him to do something. We will have Morris for the entire year. We will have a talented junior class who know the system pretty well. We have Bobby Perry who morphed into a freaking great player at the end of last year. We should be able to move guys back into their correct positions. Our team GREATLY underachieved this year but I get the feeling that little issue will be corrected next year. We have some pretty good talent coming in on the freshman class as well.
Not every sportswriter has you ranked higher... go look at Joe Lunardi's first bracketology... He has us as a 7 and you all as an 11
Oh yeah, one more thing -
Here is a clue, take off the blueblockers first.
I am not wearing "blueblockers". That would, by definition, block the blue... ALL I SEE is blue baby! :tongue

I just noticed you were from Owensboro Dan. I dated a girl from Central City for over 4 years. But this was several years ago. Do you still live in Owensboro? I went down to CC a few times. WOW, talk about boring! lol The exciting thing to do down there was meet up at the (as in the ONLY"one")Wal-Mart and hang out in the parking lot./forum/images/emoticons/icon_lol.giflol (#):"> Very nice folks though.

Yep - still live in Owensboro. I don't make it to central city that much but I would agree that there is not much to do in that area. Hanging out at the Wal-mart really sounds like a lot of fun. :?

Dan,
It was merely a matter of convenience for NoKnee. He could work for seven hours, change his shirt, walk outside and hang out in the parking lot. Working at WalMart does have it's advantages. Like we believe he dated a girl...
