In an effort to expedite the smack talk about the upcoming game between the Cards and Ole Miss, this post will sum up any threads the Card fans will come up with and therefore render them unnecessary.

If Louisville wins, the Card fans' posts will be:

A) See, we told you the SEC is down and of no consequence this season
B) See what happens when you play a ranked team? You guys are in trouble.
C) Ole Miss will kill UK
D) U of L will be undefeated against the SEC this season.

If Louisville loses, the Cards fans' posts will be:

A) It doesn't matter. Ole Miss is an SEC powerhouse and this loss is no big deal.
B) It's okay. It doesn't affect our Big East record.
C) (Fill in the blank with the name of player) had a hot hand from 3 point range. North Carolina couldn't have beaten Ole Miss last night.
D) We've been trying to tell you all Louisville is not that good this season but you all won't listen.
E) We stink. We hate our team. Our players are no good. Anyone can beat us.
F) We weren't in favor of the SEC/Big East showdown in the first place.
G) When has UK went to a BCS BowL?
H) At least U of L has been to a Final Four in the last 5 years.

And finally, I can absolutely, positively guarantee that win, lose, or tie, SOME Cardinal fan will find a way to say something like:

"Tennessee can beat Marquette but UK can't" or some variation on the theme.

Now that I've summed that up, there's no need for any further posts and we can move on to the next topic.

Have a nice day! :icon_mrgreen:;)

Too late.

The interchangeable, one-size-fits-all barbs have commenced here:

Simply change the names and the conferences and the slurs work equally well.

Lather, rinse, repeat............and enjoy.

Surveyor, I don't know what you do for a living but I'm certain you missed your calling. That last line was a good one. Thanks. I needed a good chuckle this morning.

Before tonight, the SEC owns the Big Least. UK with win over West Virginia, Tenn has beaten Georgetown and Marquette and even Vandy won over USF. I'm sure Cinn and UL will win tonight because Ole Miss and Miss St are really not that good this year.

SeewhatImean, BB75? :icon_lol:

FWIW, these ESPN hyped "challenges" would be moreso if the teams playing were more evenly matched. UofL and Ol' Miss / Cincy and Miss. St. aren't nearly as close a matchup as the others.

Oh, I agree completely. I was just having a little fun with it. The regulars on this board have been at it for so long and the same topics are brought up over and over again, so it's pretty easy to guess what the dialogue is going to be. I've been accused by some Cardinal fans of taking things too seriously, so I was just trying to inject a little levity.

I do agree that ESPN has a tendency to promote their tournaments out the wazoo and the caliber of the matchups don't always equal the promotion.

I am sure Mississippi State has a fine team, but I am a little bit worried about Tubby Smith's team. The SEc/Big East challenge format seems to be kind of a joke.

I honestly do not believe UL has anything to worry about against Ole Miss
