On the Amsterdam team, Caudill and Pakulak are playing with linebacker Jeremy Cain who has his own Kentucky roots. He's a UMass grad and grew up in south Florida but his father is originally from Cumberland in Harlan County and currently lives in Corbin. His uncles Ron Cain and John Cain both played at UK and Ron was the coach at Somerset for many years.

As a side note, Ron Cain was named to the KY Athletic Hall of Fame a couple of years ago. Sadly Maybe five of six years have gone by since he passed away. Ron Cain also coached at Seneca High School in Louisville in the late sixties/early seventies before moving on to coach at UK for John Ray prior to his Somerset years.

I played for Cain, during my three years we lost only five games and were the first Jefferson County team to win a state football championship (65-66 season, won against Oscar Brohm's, Flaget team). Cain was a man who turned boys into men by the shear force of his will and energy.

I notice that Shane Boyd'scompletion percentage is 59.6 per cent. Good for Shane. :)I also think it's neat that Glenn Pakulak and Jeremy Caudill are together on a team, and the same for Boyd and Otis Grigsby.

Shane's completion percentage is nearing 60%!!??

Bet they're usin' that there metric system - either that or one-hoppers count in Europe.

Seriously, I'm delighted Shane seems to be hanging in - more reason to doubt Hudson, I guess ...
