Try to make this unbiased... but.......
Who has the better athletic PROGRAM? UofK or UofL?
Even as a UK fan I'm torn... I'm pretty confident that UK has lots more national championships and conference championships cause of basketball, riflery, cheerleading and etc. Volleyball is turning out to be good too
but Louisville has a pretty good basketball TEAMS and they did win the Orange Bowl. One of my UofL friends also said that Louisville has made it further than Kentucky has in the College World Series but I don't know much about that.
What are y'alls opinions?

It's tough to look at the programs without being biased. The BE is a beast in basketball. The SEC is the toughest conference in FB. UL did win the Orange Bowl, but we have won the Sugar Bowl. UL did have a great season 2 years ago going to the CWS, and will probably have a tough team this year as well.
I think UK is under better leadership with MB, than UL is with TJ. I admit he, TJ, has done some good things at UL, but for personal reasons I cannot stand the man.

The BE is a paper tiger in Hoops but I will admit they are a very deep paper tiger,
That said the SEC is consistently the top conference in America in almost every sport.
As for baseball... the big east is primarily a Northern Conference. It is natural for the team geographically located farthest south to do the best for a variety of reasons. We can for the same reasons expect the Big 10 to be a much better Hockey conference than the SEC.
That said, the Big East, like football, is also not a very good baseball conference and a conference championship and NCAA birth or BCS bowl can be gotten much more easily.

when you factor in the competitiveness of the SEC in almost every sport ,mens and womens (OK, I'll give you basketball) you have to give more weight to UK winning in sports like golf, swimming, baseball, football, gymnastics because the conference is so toughl. UL made a living on winning in a weak C-USA and now the Big East. The only sport they can claim to be really good at consistently is basketball.
