View Full Version : Who might leave

It is becoming clear to me we are reaching for a class of 25 recruits (that's our limit, right?). If that's true, then who might leave. Some years, players gracefully bow-out leaving room for the new guys. Others have injuries. Then grades get in the mix.
I wonder what has been said and to whom. Have promises of scholarships been made if room becomes available? Do coaches know of some plans we don't? Do we ever take scholarships from players not living up to what we thought was their potential? I can't figure out if it reminds me of a dance or a chess match. People move on and off the roster.

I don't have any inside info (you need input from RV for that), we may have offered more than 25, I'm not sure. Lots of things can (and usually do) happen. Some of the players we're recruiting may not qualify academically. Others may change their minds and sign with other schools. Then there's the greyshirt (see Jordan Aumiller) that we've used in the past. We may have players on campus that won't be on scholarship this coming season for a variety of reasons. I'm sure the coaches have a plan. I can't recall any recruit being totally left out in the cold since coach Brooks has been here, unless they got into some kind of trouble after we offered them a scholly.
We don't leave recruits high and dry.
And yes - it's safe to say the coaches know many things we don't. ;)
Catch me at a tailgate sometime and I'll be glad to discuss many of the signing and recruiting nuances I've learned.
