The KY jealousy list?

MI State needs to be on the list but isn't because their coach says nice things about KY and its players(IZZO is just trying to be nice, he don't believe that stuff)

Any program that appears to have a coach that fanatic fansTHINK would do better than our current coach(although from the looks of it there are only 3 in the nation out there and some of them benefit from others wins at their schools).

Go ahead and add to the list, since I am fairly happy with the last 9 years of KY basketball, I am probably a bad list originator.

You can put UCLA on that list to a lesser degree because of the national titles

Anybody who beats us in a given year. Because, you know, once they beat us, then we're "looking up" at them and "they have our number" and "we're being dominated" by them and "it will stay like this until Tubby is gone."

Usually we're jealous of a coach and not a team or a program.

If Kentucky Fan gets a crush on a coach, and that coach beats Tubby, then "we better get used to it" because "it's going to happen again next year."

Tubby's record versus Bruce Pearl: 1-1.
Tubby's record versus Rick Pitino: 3-2.
Tubby's record versus Mike Kryzewski: 1-2.
Tubby's record versus Tom Izzo: 2-4.
Tubby's record versus Mark Few: 1-0.
Tubby's record versus Roy Williams: 3-2.

Tubby is a combined 22-19 against the coaches that are normally called for to replace him.

Yeah, so? Neither coach is at that school right now, and we're not judging Tubby Smith in this debate on what he did anywhere else other than at UK.

Tubby also beat Billy Donovan 8 straight times and 10 out of 11 starting in March of 2000. Most folks who don't like Tubby throw that out and argue that Donovan has grown up. If we casually throw out that streak, then why should we pull in the number you present?

Indeed it would appear that way to an outside observer, but you just watch if IN starts winning a little or beating UK a couple in a row. You have to get more tuned in to the free floating hostility around here, LOL.:P

Just curious about IN. They have a great basketball tradition. But... many of those years were with a coach that was quite successful a lot of seasons but had some real issues, followed by another coach who had his own issues. I would not say their last 15 years have ranked very high. By many measures they've had a great program, but are there any measures that should make UK fans be jealous of IU?

For me personally, I've never been jealous of any team. I think it's pretty silly to be jealous of other teams. I dislike those teams simply because they are rivals. And if those teams have better seasons, like Tennessee had this year, or how Indiana beat us in December, that just intensifies the rivalry for me all the more.

Phoenix what is the point of this thread? I suppose you think other schools aren't jealous of UK? I think it is a two way street here. Sure we are jealous of Duke, Indiana, UL, Florida, UCONN, UNC, UCLA, etc. but there are many fans from the other schools that are jealous of UK as well. This seems like a useless thread to me but I did take enough interest to comment on it so I should not say too much I guess. Nevertheless bashing UK fans even if done in a nice way is not accomplishing anything and it doesn't make us any better or any worse than fans from other major basketball universities.:question:shrug:
