Brandan (whenever he decides it is time... the decision... at all levels except official level) has been determined.
The fourth one would be Meeks (for a third guard and I dont understand it right now but I am not in charge), and that could happen on his visit.

Is Tubby visiting Wright again? Someone saying on another board he is. If so, man he is working HARD.

Wright
Meeks
Jasper
Thompson
Young ( fingers crossed )
More than likely it will be the first four. Great Job Coach Smith and Greg Hoover.

Prep school is still possible, but fading away isn't. More than likely the 4 schollies will be Wright/Jasper/Meeks/Porter. If we are somehow able to get Young/Thompson, then Porter almost def. goes PS route. Additionally, do not be surprised if there is a 5th scholly out there. Do not be surprised at all. The third guard with Meeks baffles me, but Tubby forgot to ask. Nice job CC. A blind squirrel finds a nut every now and again...just kidding.

How much more clearer can I be. Tubby and Coach Porter have discussed this an Michael will be at UK next EOD.

You actually weren't that clear. You were clear that he would be at UK, which I never disagreed, but you were not clear that it wouldn't be after prep school. Settle down man, I was agreeing with you. Keep in mind posts don't always read as they are written or intended.

Porter will likely not prep and he WILL NOT FADE. The kid was recruited as an outstanding ATHLETE, great student and coach's son. Hopefully some of us won't turn him into the poster boy to trash like Williams is. I never understood why UK fans continuously do this when they should want all of our players to be great...but I digress.
Jasper is an excellent pickup. We now need Wright to commit. He is the key to this class, IMO.

Guys it was a joke, i know the kid will not fade.. As I said you must have kids like Williams and Porter...I'd love for these kids to be john pelphrey and richie farmer clones respectfully... Tubby can find a diamond in the rough better than any coach out there. I agree Wright is the key to this class... Be intresting if we sign five, if that last scholarship is between thompson and young, who would you pick.

I may be in the minority here, but Thompson. Banger, likely four year player, star potential but doesn't necessarily need to have the ball at all times to succeed.

Greg, I must say I have been following your information for the past couple of years. And youve been on target 90% of the time. Props goes out to you on my behalf.
Like I said in another post, I really wanted, Jasper, Thompson, and Wright. So far, 1/1. I've heard some stuff about Tenn reporters saying he will be at UK. But not announcing it. Actually, I believe Greg is the founder of that statement. I've been following very very closeley on opinions about were Wright will go. And I haven't heard anyone else have a stronger opinion then Greg concerning Wright to UK. So at 90%, I'll take that any day. Props to the geek.

Some reviews on Jasper to read up:
EBO featured one of my favorite players at the camp, Derrick Jasper (http://nbadraft.net/profiles/derrickjasper.asp). While most kids in the AAU setting have a "score first" mentality, Jasper showed that he's an expert at creating easy shots for his teammates. At 6'4", he already possesses tremendous size for the position. He can penetrate into the lane seemingly at will and he always plays under control. He is similar in a lot of ways to Deron Williams and he's the best true point guard prospect in the class of '06.
Day four began at the Desert Pines where we got another look at EBO's Derrick Jasper (http://nbadraft.net/profiles/derrickjasper.asp). My opinion on him gets higher each time I see him. He never makes a bad decision with the ball. Whichever college ends up with him will be very pleased.
http://nbadraft.net/2005lasvegas003.asp
F.O.H. Seattle's point guard, Tywon Lawson (http://nbadraft.net/profiles/tywonlawson.asp), had positive numbers. The North Carolina recruit is speedy, tough, and careful with the basketball. The knock on him is his height (5'11" - and that's being generous) and his ability to find the open man once he's in the paint. Lawson didn't stand out or really make a difference in this game however. Many people rate him as the top point guard prospect of the 2006 class, but to us he's a full step below Derrick Jasper (http://nbadraft.net/profiles/derrickjasper.asp).

I'm certainly not dogging this kid, but scouts.com says the one knock is that he has to be more consistent from the outside with his shot to play in the SEC. When is the last time we had a pg that could just flat out light it up at any time?

Gotta go back to Travis Ford, I guess. If your 2 and 3 can shoot from outside, you're ok with a PG with all the other skills. Would be nice, though ...
On the other hand, you gotta love the fact that UNC's diminutive guard is ranked "a full step below Derrick Jasper." :)

I could care less about the ability of a point guard to shoot the outside shot. If your point guard is shooting the jumper outside then he isn't doing his job of distributing or penetrating. I am so tired of Point Guards around college basketball jacking up 25 footers and acting like theyare gettingthe job done. No point guard should have over 1-2 outside jumpers a game.

I certainly want a point guard that can defend, penetrate, handle the pressure, and make others better first, but a PG that can fill it up is priceless. Deron Williams showed what a PG with those skills can do for a team. The great NBA PGs are/were ones that would make a defense pay for collapsing into the paint and focusing on penetration.
Let's be greedy and hope that our PGs can become solid outside shooters. :)

OK
But put me down as a solid yes vote for the Jasper Meeks backcourt (three and four years from now). Whatever Porter brings is what he brings, but those twohave the tools toplay ball line defense like we haven't seen it yet.

I know exactly what you mean RP, but what about guys like Deron Williams, Felton, and Chris Paul. Especially Paul. He delivered the ball exactly where it needed to be and always looked to pass first, almost to a fault. He could take anyone off the dribble. But defenses couldn't sag because he had range up to 25 feet. I don't agree that the pg should have 1-2 jumpers a game, but 4-6 would be nice. What would be nicer is if that pg could HIT 3 or 4 of those attempts.

I sure hope you are right. That is high praise. I would suspect that Porter, being a star football player, will be solid in the defense, as well. Being a high school QB will probably prepare him to be a good back up PG and WG off the bench, also.

There is so much to it that it is unanswerable.
Here is the cliff notes.
- Keenan Ellis, teammate of Mayo at NCH is interested in UK
- Huggy Bear is no longer at Cincy... to which Mayo's lean that way is now wavered.
_ he still have a number of other schools, like West Virginia, Louisville, etc. I am not going to name all 7. AND CINCY is still there they just arent the "slight favorite" that they once were.
- he is still friends/teammates with Bill Walker who is more of a Cincy lean so that is why that is the case.

Npt sure he is a lean anywhere. CC knows more than I on this one. I think he ends up at Arkansas. Just a hunch, but he doesn't seem like the type who wants to share the hype(Wright). He's looking to be one and done and can be the man right away at UA.

First, thanks a million for the info, CC (Greg). Too, I am sending that love you asked for, and it's even unconditional love!:)
I especially love the "nice" CC, though. Although I haven't met you in person yet, I know dear Aunt Sadie, one of the nicest ladies ever created, is smiling much bigger in Heaven when you showyour really "nice" side! :)
