I remember that after Ed Davender was drafted there was concern after a physical examination indicated that a heart condition or something similar threw real doubt on his ability to continue to play basketball.

A few questions -

1) was the condition something similar to what befell UK recruit John Stewart, or even Pete Maravich? (I think it was similar to Stewart but I'm not sure.)

2) was Davender later cleared to continue playing basketball? (I think the answer to this is yes.)

3) did Davender ever play in the NBA, or play pro basketball anywhere? (I think he was cut by the Bullets the same year they drafted him and never played in the NBA but I don't know if he played elsewhere.)

4) what became of Ed Davender; where is he now and how is he doing?

He was a player so many UK fans really, really liked, but I've never really heard what became of him and don't even know how things went for him right after he left UK.

I believe Ed had some bad nutritional habits that led to an electrolyte imbalance. That caused an arrythmia.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but that's what I remember.
