I too think coach K is highly overrated. I am sort of in line with how he feels about George W Bush too. :D

I think more likely he has lost some money on K's teams.
I am also thinking Reddick COULD break him down off the dribble.

I love that he also has noticed the underutilizing of the bench by Coach K. I mean he starts four or five MCd's yet always has five mor eon the bench that don't play. I personally think thats why come sweet sixteen the last two years his teams have just looked drained physically. I mean come on, if you win by an average of twenty or more points why do your starters play 38 minutes per game? Thats nonsense to me, but thats jmo.

Given the ten or so FF's, players of the year and three championships, a good graduation rate, and no probations, I'm of the opinion that Coach K is not overated.
He gets talent but its talent that must pass Duke muster and he still has to coach it up. His teams play exciting aggressive basketball and he adapts to his talent. I don't like to admit it but he's the current best there is in colleage basketball and is the benchmark for NCAA coaches.

I think it's an interesting debate to have.
Personally, I would rather have too few players on a team than too many. (Given, of course, you have bodies who couldhelp people improve in practice.)
I say this after watching Tubby Smith's teams the last few years. WAAAAAAY too many guys who are fighting for playing time, and to me that's counter-productive a lot of the time.
Florida didn't have much of a bench. Neither did LSU. North Carolina two years ago was an exception, but I don't think UCONN in '04 was very deep. Neither was Syracuse the year before. And so on.
Eight is a perfect rotation. A lot of the time we're playing TWELVE.
Depth is overrated.

Agreed. One thing I have had on my mind is how Crawford and Bradley will react if Jasper and Meeks are stepping up and gettin a lot of PT.

Just as soon as Bradley and Crawford see first hand Jasper and Meeks on the practice floor, they will know those guys can PLAY.
Actually, Bradley and Crawford should welcome the new additions with open arms. Bradley can play both guard spots so he won't lose any court time and when he is at shooting guard, Jasper (unlike Rondo) will get him the ball when he is open and with more than one second left on the shot clock. Also, with Meeks available to sub for Bobby Perry, Crawford won't have to defend 6'8" guys anymore.

Really enjoy reading sports related topics......but I could really care less how you feel about GWB.
On the topic, any coach who had as many burger boys as he has had should have more than three titles. JMO

I agree. I'm somewhere between coach K and Tubby with the utilization of bench players. There are positives to using a small bench but also alot of risks. On the otherhand, much easier to keep the players that matter happy and playing consistent basketball as well.
