with about 4 minutes left in the Florida game BCG called timeout. There were 12 seconds left on the shot clock. When Uk went backk on the floor the only person who seemed to realize there were only 12 seconds left was Meeks and UK suffered yet another turnover.
Did BCG forget to mention the short shot clock or did the players not listen to him?

Yule they have given up worrying about this team. They have been Kragthorped!
I did notice that and I mentioned it in chat. It seems as if this team doesn't know what to do when they are taken out of the play. If you would let us stop the game every possession and call a play, we'd be good.

Atleast Billy is bringing in some talent. Can't really say the same thing for Kragethorpe.

Im not really sure about the talent Billy Clyde is bringing in or if he will know how to use them but I sure know kragthorpe has no clue so I can argue on that point.

But is the talent at the positions you need it?

Good point, and I've been worried about that as well.
The serious problem is a point guard/leader for this team. Vilarino is coming in, but he prob isn't ready to be a starter yet, the sad thing is he may be better than anybody else we have coming back. I think Liggins is gone, seeing as Coach is clearly recruiting over him relentlessly. We are going after 2 very good point guards for next year but the odds are low a freshman is going to be able to come in and be the starting point guard and leader Coach wants. The jury is still out on Galloway, but the talent and desire is there with him, so we'll see. But...clearly point guard is the issue.
You have to admit though, that this line-up looks very very good (assuming Patterson and Meeks both return, and Coach can push the right buttons with them)...
Miller
Patterson
Orton
Meeks
Galloway
Backed-up with...
Hood
Pilgrim
Stevenson
Harrellson
Porter
I do believe that Liggins and possibly Stewart may transfer.
And I do know this...our front line will be very deep and talented when you look at Patterson, Orton, Pilgrim, Stevenson, Harrellson, and maybe Stewart...and I like Miller and Hood at the wings as well.
This team has the potential to be very good if it can find a solid point guard, or lead guard.

Liggins will be fine at PG with Galloway backing him up. Freshman will be freshman you know that don't you.

You can't argue with him bringing in players that are talented regardless of if the jury is still out on his ability to coach them. You would be tickled to death if UL had a five star football player coming in next year but they don't. They barely have some three stars.

Liggins is gone. Memphis fans are already talking about him transferring there.

At this point, I agree. I think DeAndre has the potential to be a fantastic player, but I don't think it will be with Kentucky. Too much has gone on for him to just put up with it. College life is too short, why would he want to deal with the stuff he has (regardless of whose fault it is) any longer?
I'll be pleasantly shocked if he stays.

Yea and they are talking about their coach coming here so which is it. They can talk all they want. Liggins is going nowhere and if he did we have a player just like him and his name is Galloway.

he'll sit out a year and still find himself sitting on the bench somewhere else. He needs to check the attitude at the door and work his butt off.

Patterson-gone
Orton-2 knee surgeries (can anyway say David Padgett)
Stevenson, Harrelson Stewart doesn't really scare anyone
Pilgrim - averaged 8 points and 4 fouls at Hampton
Miller- Good player will be a nice role player by his junior year
Hood- Can shoot a little -to slow to guard anyone.
Billie Clydes ability to recruit is a myth.

Good lord...why do you even post on this board??? Every post you make is negative at best. Are you even a UK supporter? Seriously?
Patterson-how do you know he is gone?????? You don't! He doesn't even know he is!
Stevenson, Harrellson, Stewart-All good role players, which is what they'll be next year
Pilgrim-if you've watched him play at all (which I doubt you have) you would see a dominating physical player, alot like Patterson but with a little more range, he has great bball IQ and skills, his stats 2 years ago have nothing to do with what he'll do next year (see Jodie Meeks from FR and SOPH years to this year!)
Miller-Yes, a good player who is only going to get better, he's already more than a role player for God's sake! He will be a 1,000 point scorer and a very good player for the next 3 years
Hood-we don't know anything for sure but he is definitely a scorer, shooter, and very athletic 6-6 wing player, nothing wrong with those!
His recruiting ability is REAL, DEAL WITH IT!

I guess Pitino's ability to coach is a myth as well since he hasn't won a National Title in his tenure at UL.

I don't know who the guy roots for or what he has said in his other posts, but I don't think he's too off base with his evaluations. The only thing I disagree with is what he said about Darius -- but that just depends on what his thoughts are my thoughts are on what a "nice role player" is. I also won't say that Patrick is definitely, 100% gone (I have said that I think he is gone, I just don't know for sure--it's just my opinion).

So you think that Orton has had to 2 knee surgeries thus making him not effective? Also you believe that Hood can "shot a little" but is too slow to guard anyone? Anyone that thinks either of those things needs to take a long look at those guys again. Hood is very athletic and can guard anyone at his position once he learns better footwork he will get even better also he can shot a lot better than "he can shot a little." Orton is a beast and his knee surgeries are irrelevant. David Padgett couldn't jump before he had his. I guess Pilgrims stats while at Hampton is a good assessment unless you take into account that he was only a Freshman/Soph and had some very good games.

The poster never said Orton would be ineffective, he just said he had two surgeries (unless his reference to Padgett was pointing towards that, I don't know -- I always thought Padgett was decent enough). I don't know how he will do personally. I *hope* he does well, but I'm not amount to crown him until he gets here and starts playing. Then and only then will we all be able to personally see how his knees look. To say right now that his surgeries and knees are irrelevant, I just don't think that's accurate. We just don't know. Here's hoping to a full recovery and no showing effects ...
Hood? I don't know, that's anyone's guess. But most freshmen come in apparently not knowing how to defend the way Gillispie wants them to and thus it keeps them on the bench, no matter how great they are offensively.
And then Pilgrim. Well, he sure looks the part. But we (UK fans) have problems of really hyping up players and then we end up disappointed. So I'm just taking the wait-and-see approach with him too.
So basically, I'm holding my reservations before proclaiming anything on any of these players. On paper they have the potential to be great. I love our class next year. But we'll see what happens.

This year's Kentucky team looked young and talented............................in January. I would take the UK team of January and give you the UK team of March and spot you 15 points. Just imagine what a whole offseason of "coaching" will do for them.

I agree with that part wholeheartedly.
I think to say that a guy as talented as Hood can shot a little is grossly underestimating him and his ability to defend. Plus you can't underestimate his want to play for UK being a Kentucky kid. I don't know if I can agree with them not knowing how to defend according to Coach. I think he expects the same that other coachs to. Don't leave players open for threes and don't let them blow by you so they can get in the lane and create.
Orton was being put down in that he would prove to be not athletic that is what the Padgett thing was about. While Padgett was a decent to goo player while at UL he never came around to be the player they thought he would mostly because of his knees. He was however a good leader.
Pilgrim is a very good player from the few times I have seen him he has all the ability to be a good player. Will he be a superstar when he jumps off the bus I doubt it. But being in the system for a year could have a impact on him. He will basically be a Senior.

From what I've seen of Orton he is VERY athletic for a guy his size. He reminds me of a more athletic Randolph Morris actually. He looks to be more self-motivated and physical than Morris too, which is good. I just hope the surgeries haven't hurt his athelticism. We'll see...
