UK had a very good turnout. I was there as well as many others. The Cats won 3-1 but could have won by more. In the 2nd-4th inning, they left 6 on base.

Shelby had a good game

Me, my brother, CathyNKY, Cathy's hubby Mark, POLKEM, KendyCat, JBH, DenCat, Phyllis and more were there sitting together. The UK bench side was 80% Blue the UL bench side was 80% Red. UL probably more standing around, over all I'd say 60% red, 40% Blue. In and around the crowd we also spotted Joe B. Hall and Kentucky Legend Ralph Beard.

But My, My, My, the Bat Cats sure gave the Blue crowd a lot to cheer about, and cheer they did. I saw quite a few disconcerting looks from the fans in red, including a local tv camera crew who didn't turn the camera UK's way for even a second. The card fans cheered once when they got a player to third to which Marsha exclaimed, "Wow, I wonder what they'll do if they score a run." She is hard core BLUE:wildcatface.

It was a perfect night and I must say the cards have a very fine baseball facility.

Do they play at Cardinal Stadium?

No they built a new stadium on the back side of Papa John's. It is a very nice ball park. Over 400 in centerfield, and 330 on the corners. I must say I had never seen the sports turf used for the infield. The only "dirt" was on the pitchers mound and around home plate.

It WAS a perfect night for baseball. Now I have the BatCat fever. Printed a schedule. I want to go to a game in Lexington now. For Card followers...you have a first rate stadium. The fountain with the Slugger bats as the center piece is very impressive.

I was surprised at all the Blue Fans there. It was a fun time. We'll have to do it again next year, right guys? Think we could have another perfect night?

Next time I am leaving work early to get there and get a good spot! No more of the walking that far to get the stadium. :)

Sorry I missed you guys - had a rough day and just too pooped to keep driving around and walking so far. Had to be the party-pooper but I did go by Churchill Downs and scalp out my parking for my breakfast at Dawn at the Downs on Derby week. :)

Cathy-UK hosts South Carolina this weekend in Lexington. UK's stadium is awesome. If you are a member of UK alumni assoc , you get in free. S Carolina is leading the SEC right now. If weather holds out should be a great weekend of baseball at UK.

There is no place I would rather be than at the Blue/White game and the BatCats game. But my hubby wants to do Thunder this year. I spend a lot of time in Lexington during FB and BB season. He is a UL fan and despises UK. He went to the game with us last night so I feel I owe him. I'll be at fan day and plan on making another game in Lex before the season is finished.
