LOUISVILLE - The Kentucky-Louisville rematch last night wasn't a work of art, and it didn't contain the fireworks of the opener two weeks ago that included three balks, an ejection of UK Coach John Cohen and a host of other bizarre plays.
The only real storyline last night was the Wildcat bullpen, which offset a shaky performance from the UK hitters to help the Cats post a 3-1 victory in front a 2,341 fans at U of L's Jim Patterson Stadium -- the second-largest crowd ever to watch a game at the Cardinals' new baseball facility.
While Cohen was pleased to get the win, he didn't like the fact that his team struck out 13 times and left 10 runners on base.
"We did not swing the bats well," he said. "You've got to give Louisville credit, but we need to be a lot better than that."
