This would be great news!!!

Wall had listed Memphis as his favorite before John Calipari took the Kentucky job. Where does Kentucky factor in the mix now?
“I’m considering them right now, but it’s not my leader,” he said. “I don’t have no leader now.”

The follow-up to that quote was "...I haven’t talked to him since then so I don’t know where that’s going," which sounds a lot less reassuring. Once UNC and Duke are definitively out of the picture, I'll get really excited.

Another interesting part of this story is that Wall has added Florida on the list which may be a good thing as well because if he did indeed choose Florida i think Bledsoe would be a lock for Kentucky.
Were going to land one of the two IMO..............

I'm starting to really feel that, too. Thought Wall was a lock up until about a day ago or so. Still think he's gonna be the one, but I wouldn't be nearly as much stuff on it as I would have before. Word on the street is Calipari is going to Birmingham tomorrow to meet with Bledsoe.

I think we get Wall. No clue about the Henry's, but I like our chances.

The Wall recruitment has been one of the most bizarre I've seen.
Either he has no clue where he's going or he's stringing people along. Can you imagine a kid from Lexington being recruited this way by UK? It'd be completely mystifying.

Same here. I felt pretty good about Wall a few days ago....but it's now to the point over the last couple of days where I'd just as soon see Xavier Henry and Eric Bledsoe commit and call it a day. I don't think there's anyway possible to be upset with a recruiting class of DeMarcus Cousins, Xavier Henry, Daniel Orton, Eric Bledsoe and Jon Hood!!!
Of course UK can't give up on Wall....if he's on a school's list, they've gotta keep trying. But I'm really gonna hate it if we miss out on BOTH Wall and Bledsoe.....

Wall said he and Henry had briefly discussed playing together, and Kentucky-bound big man DeMarcus Cousins is actively working both players to join him under Calipari.

I don't see how a kid of this caliber can not have a leader
time will tell

I'm telling you, if someone committed to UK with all 13 scholarships spoken for, it would mean someone had to be forced out. And regardless of if you agree with that or not, the fact that it "could" make some people upset is enough reason to keep it under wraps.
I think we already have Wall.
We haven't talked to Bledsoe as a backup plan, or any other PG's which is a position we need desperately filled. I just find that odd.

from reading that blog is seems to me that Wall and Henry really like the idea of possibly playing with each other at the next level (college). With both Henry and Wall looking at UK and kansas, if one makes the decision to go to UK the other could follow. Or vise versa. we shall see

Wall was going to Memphis, Xavier Henry was going to Memphis . . . do we really think they were going cause they loved the town?
and I don't see Wall going to Kansas, too far away from his ill mother.
Wall was leaning towards Memphis. I'm not sure John Wall knows where he wants to go. This late in the game, most kids have 3 schools, not 8.
Should be interesting, especially with UK visiting another guard soon.

Kid doesn't have a clue, IMO.
It's understandable, if it were October. By now, I think you should have your list narrowed down to 3 schools. That way, you don't lead a school on, and potentially leave them stranded.
But, he's going to suck this thing for every thing it's worth. I'm willing to bet a paycheck that he's announcement is broadcast on ESPN. The Ol' 3 hats on the table, picks one and signs a LOI.

I thought so, too, but I'm not so sure now. By being undecided, Wall stays in the headlines. By leaving out schools, dropping hints, he gets more attention, both from the media and from the coaches. He wants to get to the NBA as fast as possible, and I think he wants to keep himself hyped up for as long as he can get away with. Compare the attention Wall is getting to the attention Cousins got. Wall is more exceptional, but he's getting a disproportionate amount of press, based in large part to the surprise of his final decision.
This could all be true even if he hasn't picked a school, but I could see him having made his mind and continuing the media game.

No way I let this go on this long if it's my son.
And I say this not as a frustrated fan or anything. My life will go on regardless of what John Wall does. I wish him the best if he doesn't choose the Cats, but I obviously would love to have him.
But I agree with what Len Elmore said during the McDonald's All-American game. He said that if you let these things go on this long, you're just asking for trouble. There is no reason this should be drawn out like this. The kid has been recruited for literally six years. In six years, he hasn't made a decision. And it's not only Wall--these things are becoming commonplace.
It's almost baffling.
Well, John lost his father when he was 9. But he's surrounded by people who should step in and say, "John, this can't continue." It's an absolute circus with John Wall.
Like you said Will, my life will continue whether John Wall commits or not. He's an amazing talent, a great kid, but no kid should be put on a pedestal like John Wall has.

You are right, it is a circus. However, he's creating it by adding/subtracting/changing the teams on his list on a daily basis. At first I thought he was just confused as to what he wanted, but now I think he likes the attention.
Hopefully, he will really narrow the list to 4 or so as he said he would.

It's kind've smart for him to do that, it's not like more schools aren't popping up and showing interest (Florida).
I'd say he will narrow it down next week like he said. I would assume he has 4 schools on the list.
Kentucky
Duke
NC State
Florida
I'd say NC State is strictly cause it's close to home, and Florida because it's a new interest to him, so Duke & Kentucky will be the final two.
