Be sure and send your bad vibes in the direction of Duke university today folks, word has it that John Wall visits there today.
I still believe Wall is Lexington bound.

2 to 1, at least. The water works will be in full swing. He may even have Dukie V there with him crying, for effect.

I believe that Wall is ours, but you never know what K can put in his head. Puke hardly has any one and done players, and I think Wall will see that.

Nor can I.
What I can see clearly in my mind's eye however, is John Wall bringing the ball up the court for the Kentucky Wildcats next year.

Realistically, it's between Duke & Kentucky. Two programs that NEED him, which he said was important. Two Coaches that are GREAT, which he said was important.
Duke is the closer school to his mom, that is going to be their main pull.
To be honest, I think Kentucky has more potential next year with Wall added than Duke would.
Wall can either play with Sheyer, Singler, Plumlee . . . or he can play with Cousins, Orton, Meeks, and maybe Patterson and be in the DDO.
I just think he has more to work with in Kentucky to make his 1 year a success and make him look good.
But, we've all seen how much pull a momma can have

Excellent points. Wall has kind of downplayed staying close to him. He said it would be great but not a deciding factor. I am sure a lot depends on the health of his mom.
I went to UK to get away from home, I wanted to leave and be on my own for a while. Hopefully wall does to!

I mean, here's the comparisons for Wall
Outside Shooter - Sheyer vs. Meeks
That comparison is laughable
Wing Man - Singler vs. Miller
While I think Miller will have a breakout year, probably gotta give it to Singler at this point
Inside Presence - Plumlee/Zoubek vs. Cousins/Orton/Patterson
Regardless if P2 comes back or not, it's still laughable to look at that matchup as well.
Like I said, I just think it's clear which team has a better chance to get to the finals with Wall.

As I have previously posted, Coach K had told John Wall that he could be the "missing piece" to their winning a national championship this next season. When later answering a question about where he would go, John Wall himself used those very words that he wants to be the "missing piece" to a national championship. That said to me that Wall was repeating what Coach K had said to him AND that Duke, close to home and his mother, was likely a strong contender for Wall.
As I've also said, IF Patterson and Meeks are known to be returning, I still think that Wall chooses UK. Yet, as much as I naturally HOPE that Wall chooses us, without that definite I think it's between Kentucky, Duke, and Kansas (IF Xavier Henry is indeed going to Kansas, meaning that that vision of a national championship works for Kansas, too).
By the way, even if we only add John Wall to the class, I am absolutely elated (although, naturally, I would love for us to sign Henry, too). I'm HOPING with all my heart that neither Duke nor Kansas wins out with Wall. YET, all the hoping in the world will not make it become reality. Like everyone else, I'll just have to wait and see. :5x
P.S. Yes, add me in to those who think Coach K will cry. Let's just hope the tears don't work for him this time. :5x

You left Duke's best player off your list, Henderson. Even with Henderson, I like our supporting line-up better.
I think the key is that the DDO is taylor made for Wall. It is the perfect system to utilize and display his skill set. If he comes to UK, expect a fantastic year and one and done jump to the top pick in the NBA draft.

I thought Henderson had declared for the draft?
If he did, he's gone.
If not, that definetly hurts our chances for Wall.

most mock drafts have him anywhere from 8 - 15 . . . I'd say he's gone
EDIT: Gerald Henderson, that is

I'm starting to think Duke might have an edge too, but I don't think it'll have anything to do with visits. Wall's already been to UK, so he doesn't need to see it again. He knows what's there, and now he knows what kind of style we're going to play. If, after knowing all that, he still wants to go to Duke, well, good for them.
I think, as in the Henry case, Mom will play an important role in this recruiting. And I don't for a second blame either kid for that. to moms.

I seem to remember another high profile recruit who chose UK over Duke and Florida because UK was closer to his momma. I had to choose between two job offers out of college, one in El Paso and one in Birmingham....momma said Birmingham.

I just don't think Duke is appealing to Wall outside of it's closer to home than Kentucky. Gerald Henderson will stay in the draft, I'm almost certain of that. Sheyer, Singler, Plumlee, Wall, and [whoever] does not spell a championship team, and surely Wall can see that.

Why would anyone who wants to be an amazing NBA player go to Duke? All of Duke's great players suck horribly in the NBA, and Wall wants to shine...it makes sense to go to UK with Cal, and I bet you anything that will be Coach Cal's pick up line.
"Look at the Rose, the player I helped get to the NBA. Now look at J.J. Reddick, the guy Coach K helped get to the NBA... Not saying anything at all Wall. Just think about it :icon_mrgreen:"

Maybe John Wall should call up Lebron for advice or perhaps Dirk Nowitski.
Little off topic but i learned something new the other day. When Calipari took the Kentucky job before a Mavericks game Dirk was walking around all happy and on cloud nine.Jason Terry asked him what in the hell was wrong with him and Dirk said that he was happy that Calipari had taken the UK job.Terry asked him what that had to do with him and the big man said that if he had of went to college, it would have been Kentucky.
I did not know that.Dirk is a big fan of the Wildcats:thumbup::thumbup:

KSR just posted that Florida may actually be ahead of Duke for John Wall due to Coach K not having time for wall.
Cal has seen him 3 times in the past two weeks, Donovan has seen him twice in that timeframe, and Coach K hasn't seen him at all.
Surely we'd get Wall over Donovan?

This just in...John Wall has eliminated all Division 3 and most of the Division 2 teams from his list. His list will be cut from the 412 that it currently stands to his top 100 sometime in 2009!!! :icon_mrgreen:

I'm fairly certain Shawn Kemp was going to play for UK, but decided to go the NBA route. I could be wrong, but I think Kevin Garnett had a UK lean as well. I love the fact that both Dirk and Lebron have mentioned Kentucky in a positive fashion over the past week, that is PR you just can't buy and those young kids certainly hear those things.

A real shame, because he was one of the most gifted players UK ever signed.

Considering John Wall having a good idea of where he wants to go came the day after Coach K bailed on him, and Coach Cal and Donovan came to see him, that makes me feel like Florida or Kentucky is the one he is referring too.
I also loved the comment "Coach Calipari came to my school and met with me. He's saying the exact same things he did when he was at Memphis. Nothing has changed."
Let's not forget that Memphis was Wall's undisputed front-runner when Cal was there. If he's telling him the same thing and nothing has changed, that is a pretty UK-positive statement from Wall.
