I'm hearing that Meeks has committed to UK. Of course nothing official. This could be 100% off.

Well some coaches say don't let them off campus but I think Tubby wants them to take time with their decision and not to be rushed or pressured into such a important life impacting choice.

Agreed...Tubby seems like the type of guy that would tell him to wait, go home, and talk to his family before he makes up his mind.

with that being said it sounds like it is good news, seeing that is so soon after his visit.

Kemp said the same thing. Meeks' obvious love affair w/ UK could have taken a hit last week with the Jasper committment. I see an Illinois type of backcourt in two years:
Bradley(Dee Brown, only not that good) Jasper(D. Williams type) Meeks(Luther Head type)

Meeks will be a cat tommorow. Heard from someone that a teamate told him he is going to UK.

where does the signing of these 2 guards rank us nationally in terms of their recruiting class? Top 5, 10?

Neither yet. It will be top 10 when we sign Wright, maybe top 5.

This is how we lost Korvotney.
Close the deal.

Wrong. His mom wanted him closer to home. Meeks' parents have no such reservations.

I don't think Meeks "love affair" started until Jasper was a done deal. They play different postitions, so why would DJ's verbal have any effect whatsoever on JM?
As for the verballing on a visit, I don't think that's common practice anymore. These kids want to press conference. I NEVER hear of anyone giving a verbal agreement on a recruiting visit; it's always done afterward, with the cameras duly rolling...

These guys look ahead and know who are recruiting. I think he'll be here, but he may think we have too many guards in the stable. Also, Meeks started before the Jasper committment.
