I just joined up today. I was a very active member of Wildcat Faithful in the early days. I moved to Orlando and have been a reader for a long time and never had a desire to be active and post. A little more:

1. Once had season tix to both football and basketball.
2. Was Adolph Rupp's paper boy once upon a time.
3. Lived next door to Delmar Hughes when I was in grade school
4. Was Vernon Hatton's paper boy once upon a time.
5. Grew up in Bell Court

Went to high school and or college with Tom Hammond, Tommy Borg, Billy Reed (yuk), The Torque's, WCN's own Jeff Craddock, among other 60's notables. My son was a Woodford County wrestler and now my grandson is. I haven't been to Lexington since we lost to Mississippi St. a couple of years ago.

Not much else to say except I've decided to post again now that Coach Cal is with us. I am as excited as everyone else and am amazed at what he's done already and we've not even made it to the basketball court. I am also VERY proud of what Rich Brooks has accomplished.

Glad to be back in with the great UK fans! Let's enjoy the ride.

Welcome back to the Nation.

I vaguely remember reading your posts back when I used to stalk Wildcat Faithful. :icon_mrgreen:

Bell Court is one of the best areas in Lex.

My best friend, growing up, lived in the Bell House from around 1956 - 1961 time frame.

When I went to the old Henry Clay HS building on Main St. I could have walked a half block but chose instead to drive and park about 3 blocks away - pretty dumb, huh? :icon_mrgreen:

Welcome back, Watchtower. I didn't realize Henry Clay HS was originally on Main Street....I hear the old Bryan Station High School has been replaced, although I haven't driven by to see it for sure. The old rivalry between James Lee and Jack Givins will always remain in my memory.....especially the games at Memorial Col.
And, it was alway way more cool to drive than to walk in those days.......
