Sounds like his Indy Lewis cousin who didn't turn out so well for us.

Thanks.

You read my mind, Gerntz.

Surely one of the Lewis kids likes Blue better than Green.

That is ironic, isn't it! However, I'm trying hard to think optimistically on this one.

I had really wanted us to get commitments from both of the Lewises from Indy. Actually, as some are saying, the verbal commitments don't mean THAT much. Let's just have a great season -- and just maybe win both of them over to signing with the Cats.

We surely need to get at least one of them, though, and getting such a top commitment early would possibly help in getting others to follow. May this Mr. Lewis announce for THE BIG BLUE. :5x

Did he set a time table yet for when he will make a decision?

Dejuan Lewis WR Recruit from Indy went down tonight with an injury, per early reports, it could be serious.

At this time, they are running tests will keep you updated when I know something.

Do you know any more about Lewis' injury, marooncat79? Too, I'm surely hoping there's been some good news for him. :5x

This would be a huge get for Kentucky. I hear he knows Morgan Newton--I'd love to see those two play together for Big Blue.

FWIW, I am somewhat close to this situation, and I am NOT sold that he is sold on being a BEARCAT!!

I have spoken with others who feel the same way ;)

Thanks for sharing. Too, I join gerntz in saying, "Good." Mr. Lewis is one I have especially wanted the Cats to sign. Just maybe :5x -- and it's never over until Signing Day.

Not to dispute what either you or your friend says, but with these kids you can't count them in until they sign on the dotted line. I've seen too many change their minds.

Do you have anymore news about him and if the Kelly situation might affect his decision?

KSR nightly post just stated that Lewis will visit the Cats January 8th crediting Rivals with the info. So there is still hope for the highly ranked and talented receiver becoming a Cat.:5x

Lewis will also revisit Cincy along with Purdue later in January.

Get em to stay overnight on campus and then lets take him to the 4 PM basketball game against Georgia on Saturday the 9th - what better way to show some school spirit and welcome him - well, without chanting his name too loudly that is.

Sorry I just now noticed that you had asked me a question.

At this time, I do not have any more news. As has been posted here, it is my understanding that he will be on campus soon. :shrug1:

If the Library was open, I would suggest taking him there!! :icon_biggrin: But, I hear it closed years ago. I actually me the owner of the place, he was living in Florida at the time.

If anyone finds out any news, please let us know!! Picking him up would spin our recruiting from slightly above average to way above average to good!!

I read the same, jwb, and, I, too, am keeping my fingers crossed :5x that the January the 8th visit goes REALLY well. I have badly wanted Mr. Lewis to become a Cat. Further, if Morgan Newton is our starting qb next season and Mr. Lewis becomes a Cat and lives up to his four-stars, we could be having a lot of Indy to Indy connections. :icon_biggrin: Surely Mr. Lewis would not mind that. :5x

For those of you who may not know, Mr M Newton and Mr D Lewis have been good friends since about 3rd grade!

The slip in the cog for this whole thing is that Cincy went out and hired the dude from Central Mich who is a clone of their previous coach as far as offense goes. That particular offense is WR friendly, something I am sure they are selling Dyjuan on!

We are still in this thing, just hold on!

I, too, read that the offense will be most similar -- and had thought that they will surely be selling that to Mr. Lewis. Here's hoping that friendship will play a role, though (and I had read that there was a friendship but had not realized it went back to the third grade). :5x By the way, yes, I am hanging on to hope. :)

Rob Gidel said last evening that Lewis, who had originally planned to visit on January 8 will be visiting the weekend of January the 22nd. Here's hoping some favorite former Wildcat is the "Y" that Saturday afternoon in Rupp and gets a loud standing ovation, showing that we are also a "football" school. Again, I SO want Mr. Lewis to change his commitment from Cincinatti to Kentucky. :5x

Per ESPN Bottom line, Lewis has re-committed to Cincy.

Thanks for sharing, Los Gatos. That is surely a bummer, though. :icon_sad:

I had figured that "no news" from those who cover Kentucky football recruiting was "bad news" on this one, and you have now made that official. I'm generally one to hold on to hope until Signing Day on ones like this one, but it's probably useless here.
