Saturday I was out cutting grass, when I got to the part of h hill that i always cut. I normally cut aross, but for some reason I was cutting up and down and across.

wel, for some supd reason, I lost my footing and buckled my lower leg. I khnw it was bbroken because I heard and felt it pop out of place and couldn't get up.

I endedup with a spiral frcture of m disal tibia Which got an IM rod put in it laong with screws, plate, and multiple stPLES.

I also fractured the upper part of the fibula wthich did not get surgery done on it. \\

So,, for me, this weekend pretty much sucked.

Nothing is too far out of reach. The wife is just a few steps away.

Sounds nasty, Radiated :?. Bummer. Hope you heal quickly and that you at least have some good pain pills.

Take advantage while you can. If your wife is anything like mine, it takes an extraordinary circumstance to get that kind of service. When I broke my ankle a couple summers ago, I couldn't believe how well she took care of me.....for about a week. Then it was, "get it yourself, you need to learn to get around on that thing". Now that's the woman I married....:ggrin:

Seriously, heal fast and get up and around soon.

OUch!!! I will never forget the "sound" I heard in my head when I broke my tibia.

Years of motorcycles and horses have taken it's toll on both collar bones, ribs, sternum.

Stay off pain pills as much as possible, messes up your digestive system. Get to physical therapy asap and start taking cold pressed organic flax oil to keep the injured legs' hip and knee well lubricated. Otherwise, the atrophy in these joints can be worse than the break. Good luck. Don't worry.Soon, you will learn to dance on those crutches.

Judging by your post Radiated. You ain't feelin nothing right now. The joys of good pain killers. Be careful they are addictive. I became addicted to them both times I had foot surgery. So will try to mow that hill again?

Jeez, Radiated. My leg is aching as I read this. Hope you have a speedy recovery!

Fortunately the mower didn't come back on you, but I trust it's equipped with the auto shut-off feature.

I got home at 3 yesterday and had 2 paiin pills all night and none so far today.

The worst part is not being able to sleep on my side.

I was going down the hill. He mower has an auto shutoff and it rolled about 10 feet from me.

Actually, not that you want to hear all these; "here, take this!" stuff, (so I apologize in advance) but since flax is not a food source.....you don't eat it do you?......

irky's basic idea is great......but do it with Salmon oil....which is a food source. It will definitely speed healing. Take it before eating.....as oil 'floats', and you tend to burp a little....the food you eat after it will tend to 'lie' more on top of it and minimize the burping.

I knew someone once who took 17 in one day....for synovitis..."water on the knee", and since they were pretty sick and tired of getting it needle aspirated (drained)...ugh,

they took 17, and the dang swelling went completely down....and never came back (for whatever reason, I don't know)....not bad a result for a few burps. 3 per day is avg....more ...6 to 10 (spaced out over meals) if you can tolerate. Comes in capsules, so no tasting.

Calcium and Vit D....get some sunshine!....speeds healing and bone repair as well! (and C, taken before bedtime, can help you relax...remember what mom gave you, eh?) - No! Not a slap on the back of the head!
