Thanks for the link. There are some on there that I had not heard before. When I get a couple minutes I'm going to listen to them.

These are the most clever radio spots ever produced IMHO. I absolutely love them. I never did hear why they changed them from Great American Hero's to "real men of genius." Did they offend an American Hero?

Anyway..... The funniest faux version of this series that I ever heard was the "Mr. pormo movie camera man" that Howard Stern's show produced. It was a riot.

I'm not sure if this is why (I've actually wondered the same thing...), but I remember when it waschanged. It was not long after Sept. 11, 2001. If I had to guess, the writers probably felt that the term "hero" changed drastically that day, and perhaps it was not good P.R. to make light of it. Like I say...just a guess.

I didn't have a time as a point of reference but if it did change shortly after 9/11 then it no doubt was because of sensitivity to the heroes that died that day. It makes sense if that was their reason.

I thought that maybe Bud didn't want to offend Canadians or the French or people that are offended by American Heroes.

I'm going to make my own commercial...

"Here's to you Mr. WCN Political Forum poster...."
