I'm not a big fan of bluegrass but I appreciate the tight harmonies and the instrumental work that the bands have.
WHAS just announced it would be coming back and would be held in August on the Belvedere.
I remember it being a really big thing in the 80's.

Thanks for the heads-up, Bigblue. I alternate between bluegrass and rock being my favorite kind of music...depends on the mood of the day I guess. Oddly, as much as I like bluegrass, I've never been to a festival. There are several here in western Kentucky that are pretty good, and I'll probably go to at least one of those this summer (probably the one at Kentucky Lake). It may be worth it to make the trip to Louisville in August...we'll see!
If you like tight harmonies and good instrumentals, you may want to check out Nickel Creek (if you haven't already). Their earlier stuff is much more "bluegrassy" than what they're recording now...but still, bluegrass is probably the closest genre to where they camp.
