Looks like he'll be visiting for Madness.

That has been set up for a few weeks... but yes he will.

We have some ground tomake up...

He is leaning Tex Tech way.

He was wavering on where he was going for Madness according to his AAU coach.

He's not a must get, but would be a nice addition.

Yeah I am Bill Clinton on this one... waffling.

I am not so sure to take Perry AND Brandan or Just Brandan.

I think 2007 offers better chances to get some in the same range with better offensive skills. His defense is superb... and rebounding... but offense... whew... needs some work.

I say take them both. That is a mountain of wingspan for defense and Wright could be a a one and done.

But isn't Perry slipping with us?

Yes, we have ground to make up. Then again, Thompson to UNC helps.

Perry is just upset that we "havent been paying attention to him like he thought".

I am almost convinced that these kids think sometimes that they are the ones in control. And when it comes to their future yes. BUt in control of the programs where they want to go... no.

I am not so sure that the MM visit will do it... but WE NEVER KNOW now do we.

As we saw with Meeks 23,000 "recruiters" isn't a bad thing ever.

Stevenson knows that if Wright comes to UK, theres no chance of him starting over him. I think that might play in to the factor of him committing to UK?

itconvinced him that we were the right fans, but it wasnt a Checkmark on his list to make him commit. That checkmark went to Tubby to offer. That is all it took. the fact he mentioned it says that he KNEW he made the right choice ...and it wasnt MM by the way... it was the lINE for TICKETS for MM. He is coming to MM next week. AND could be bringing someone with him. SInce he is a junior we cannot confirm and the UKAA cant confirm either.

NOW. THAT can be a recruiting tool But for SENIORS it isnt that much of tool anymore because of the early signing period.

(Sigh) You might go back and check the history to find out that I wasn't one of those posters that was pounding you about your over-the-top posting style. "...and it wasnt MM by the way... He is coming to MM next week."???? What?? Midnight Madness wasn't last week?? Thank God! I thought I must have missed it.

I didn't say it was a deal-maker, just a good thing. You really need to chill out a little.

I am just alluding to the fact that MM isnt the tool it once was.

Seeing the fans in line for MM convinced him he knew he was making a good choice, but he had already made that by Tubby bringing him in.

It was like validation.

NOW.. for the juniors who might coming, Lawal, Mayo for two are being rumored.

THEN YES it is... YES it is.

Having Lawal and Mayo there would be awesome. :dude:

Having them wearing blue would be even better. Mayo would basically seal the deal with Walker and Ellis. Walker/Ellis/Mayo/Lawal/Jackson. Holy s%$t! I guess I'm getting ahead of myself.

I thinking having MM in Rupp this year could help in making it a better recruiting tool. Having Rupp full for the first open practice of the season is a pretty big statement about UK and their fans.

IF you have a recruit who hasnt already visited or seen games at all the facilities.

Most of these kids have seen games. WHICH are even MORE impressive than a dog and pony show that MM is.

IT is a tool for those who HAVENT. Juniors. BUT you cant invite them, you hope you can get word to them and have them come, but neither Tubby can invite nor can the UKAA confirm that someone other than a senior recruit is coming.

AS for seniors with the signing date only a couple of days away, it would be for those that havent made their mind up. The issue? 70 of 100 have committed. The ones that havent and are involved with UK that we really want, BW is going elsewhere for MM and the one who is coming is a second option to another

The fact that we like and think it would be... doesnt fly outside of the BBN. outside of Ky... were just another university with a MM.

So is Perry a long shot?

TheMadCatter
10-06-2005, 04:40 PM
Fair enough, CC. And for the record I have no gripes with folks like you posting info, whether fact or supposition. Recruiting, in general, is by its nature a good amount of conjecture. A 200-mile-wide hurricane changes its direction without warning, confounding all of modern science, but we get mad when an 18-year-old kid changes his mind without telling anyone first. Crazy, huh?

You are telling me... to be held to a SUPPOSITIONAL POSITION based on a 16 to 17 years FEELINGS at one moment in time.

AND THEN when he does something differnt... IT MY FAULT.

OK.

AS for Perry, it is not a long shot per se... it is just that we werent showing him the love... and now we will. Is it too late... that is the question.

His coach said that was all he wanted...

If he gets it will it change his mind... hard to say.

hey CC, is there anyway of knowing what juniors come to MM after the fact. i mean i'm sure there will be various reports but, do you know of anyone who can let us know who actually made it.

If I were there you would know... I amnot , I have to be in Chicago.

So you are gonna have reply on someone in the BBN who knows what Mayo, Walker, Lawal, and such look like. and that is difficult. They wont be in the regular group that is making their official visits (except maybe Lawal, he might be with Meeks).

Other than that you are gonna have to rely on Drummond...
