This was the first full game that I've been able to watch on TV after having seen a rain-out game a few weeks ago. I love the "klink" of the bats so I was a bit disappointed that it was more of a pitchers duel.

Three solo homers, three runs. I thought our batting wasn't looking all that great over-all until I heard Gabriel say that this was the first loss of the season for the MSU pitcher. Too, I thought Cohen was leaving our pitcher in one inning longer than he should, but it turned out to be just right.

I would never have thought it but Gabriel also mentioned that Madison was the first ever full time baseball coach at UK.

Strieby is all he's cracked up to be---for sure! I thought that play where he had to move in toward home plate to take the throw from 2nd and then swung around to tag the base runner for the out (on what looked like a certain throwing error) was as pretty a play as his homer. But those were some powerful homers---over the scoreboard, across the parking lot, etc.

Cohen sounds like he felt that he "lucked into" Strieby--when he saw how good Strieby was, he didn't think he had a chance of landing him for UK.

Between two solid defensive teams this was errorless ball I believe. UK made one real mental error but since it was an outfield fly that dropped between two defenders, both of whom pulled up at the last minute, it wasn't logged as an error.
