Bat Cats Clinches SEC East Title

LEXINGTON - The seventh-ranked Kentucky baseball clinched the Southeastern Conference Eastern Division championship on Sunday with a 10-9 win over No. 19 Mississippi State on an overcast Sunday afternoon in front of 1,812 spectators at Cliff Hagan Stadium.
It is the first time the Wildcats have won a division title since 1976 and UK moved within one victory of its first SEC Championship in school history. Kentucky stayed red-hot and has now won eight straight games and 15 of its last 16, including 12 of their last 13 SEC games.

One thing I love about this team is that they know how to win.

Score a little, or score a lot, they do what it takes to pull out the win.

That could bode very well for a double-elimination tournament.

I watched the last 4 1/2 innings with POEKLM and KendyKat. It was quite an excited game with so many hits. Lets hope they play a regional game in lexington and during the evening hours so I can go!

At the risk of seeming a bit paranoid, The 'Cats are within one victory of clinching the SEC title. We finish the season with 3 games at Georgia. Do we just have to win one of those three to clinch it or do we have to win them all? Just to be sure I'm understanding what the situation is.

Hopefully, they'll win the first game and it will be a moot point after that.

I'm going to be a Rasheed Wallace and guarantee an outright SEC championship! UGa has been hot lately. I've not seenUGa's results for this past weekend but if the Cats can play like they have the last several weeks, it's in the bag, er, uh, maybe I should say it's in the bat.
