The Cats were 36-112 the last five years in SEC play.
This year they are 19-8, which is the best record in the conference.
What an unbelievable feat.
Kudos to Coach Cohen and this team. They've made us all proud.
Wouldn't a sweep of UGA be nice.:) But I'll be happy:Dwith 2 of 3!

With Georgia on a roll recently and now ranked No. 11, I too would be happy to take the series 2-1. That would give us all we need in the way of SEC standings to go heading into the play-offs. But then we can dream of another sweep since we already have at least 2 sweeps of ranked SEC teams this season.
In the 73 years of the SEC's existance no team has ever come from being the worst in the league (UK 7 - 22 or such) last year to being the best in the league regular season the following year. We're on the verge of doing just that.

Alabama, UK's competition for the regular season SEC title has a three game series at Tennessee. Time for UT to have a great weekend of baseball. :)

KY is 1-17 against UGA this decade. I will be happy with one win and a conference championship!!

They also have never been ranked in the top ten in this decade or any other decade, so a past record like that is (I hope) meaningless. :D

Right, Larry.
You can pretty much throw out everything you know about UK baseball history, when analyzing this team.
Nonetheless, Georgia is playing GREAT right now, and KY will face 2 of the best pitchers in the SEC (Westphal & Brown) the next 2 nights.
Personally, I think they need to jump on Westphal, who is hittable, and try to build some momentum.
Brown is a "shut-down" pitcher, and I'd hate to lose tonight, face him tomorrow, and then try to reverse momentum and pull out a win on Saturday.
The sooner we get this thing clinched, the better.
